Lona I can understand why you aren't sleeping!! My friend and neighbour I have posted about on here is finally moving into her bungalow today. It has taken 6 months of worry and frustration. She got a buyer in January. She is a nervous wreck. She is coming round this morning with yet more stuff to store in our garage. She is downsizing so much and is reluctant to get rid of stuff "just in case". I wish you so much luck with your actual move and all the best wishes in the world for your happiness in your new apartment and your new life.

Hello everyone I am a newbie, hope you dont mind me making myself at home. Ive brought cake! [cake] [ smile]

Bellanonna Fri 08-Jul-16 09:20:38

soop - antibiotics do have their down side, but hopefully the benefits will soon kick in and you'll be rid of that unpleasant UTI x

Charleygirl Fri 08-Jul-16 10:02:43

Welcome Mumsy I hope that you enjoy the fun and laughter on here. There are some tears too but not so many as the other times. There is rarely a cross word said here.

harrigran Fri 08-Jul-16 10:13:18

Yesterday I was in the supermarket when I heard this woman on her phone, "I am doing the shopping what do you want for dinner"? " do you want beef or chicken pot noodle"? I think I need a lie down, when was pot noodle deemed to be food? I come bearing the fruit that I was buying.

GandTea Fri 08-Jul-16 10:35:56

Beef, chicken, as I member they all tasted the same --- awful

Charleygirl Fri 08-Jul-16 10:36:23

harrigran I would not eat it as a snack never mind as a meal. I think that it is revolting, I tried it when it first came on the market and did not like it then.

Mumsy Fri 08-Jul-16 10:52:37

thankyou Charleygirl.

I remember the pot noodles as leaving a cardboard powdery taste in your mouth! yuk.

NanaandGrampy Fri 08-Jul-16 12:07:16

Morning all!!

Hope your 'wee zizz' did the trick soop and you are feeling more like your self today .

It was a fun day Corner and the thing that makes me nervous about moving away. But we will have to find a way to make it work .

Sorry to hear you're not sleeping well Lona . I totally get it as we have that same path in front of us but I know given a few weeks to get settled you'll be sleeping like a baby !!

Welcome Mumsy quite frankly can't have too much cake !! I think Pot Noodles actually ARE cleverly disguised cardboard smile

Is there any nutrional value in a pot noodle * Harrigran*? But if you have a banana I wouldn't mind ;-)

I'm feeling gorgeous - well passable !! Been and had my hair cut and straightened. So that's another year that Ill be good to go without the need for straighteners or a hairdryer ! Well worth the investment.

Today its the turn of our DGD1. We are collecting her from school . Going swimming ( waste of a good 'do'!!). Then home for her dinner of choice - salmon, wilted rocket and mashed sweet potato. Followed by a chick flick ( she- at 9 yrs - had decided she's too old for a Disney movie) and movie munch.

Then its an overnight , her favourite chocolate croissant for breakfast before she and I hit the shops. She didn't want a gift from our holiday this year she wanted to choose some clothes. Grampy has decided to let us have a girlie morning , a very wise choice , as there will copious amounts of 'trying on' !!

So it will be all go for us.

Charleygirl Fri 08-Jul-16 12:14:39

N&G Grampy and Sam can have a well earned rest.

Please remember on the day of the open day to remove all of Sam's food, toys etc. Unfortunately not everybody is like me and loves animals.

Not the day to go swimming if you have spent your pocket money having your hair "done".

soop Fri 08-Jul-16 13:02:37

Warm welcome to Mumsy Us lot love cake. Make yourself at home and, if you're a fan of tennis (as I am) enjoy the matches this afternoon. flowers

NanaandGrampy Fri 08-Jul-16 13:05:03

Good point Charley !! Although currently after his recent trip to the salon Sam is a little like a mobile air freshener. After his bath he gets sprayed with some sort of doggie perfume and smells like baby powder as he careers through the house smile

Yes , I fear I've wasted my pocket money. Saying 'Nana wants to keep her hair dry' is like a dare smile

My birthday present to me has arrived and has cheered me up "no end " as they say. I love it.

Charleygirl Fri 08-Jul-16 13:07:52

Happy birthday ann lovely gift- enjoy!

soop Fri 08-Jul-16 13:08:20

Hello harrigran It's good to have you call by. sunshine

Have only just returned home from Campbeltown. I need to help put the shopping away.

After which, a pot of tea, and possibly an oat and raisin biscuit. Two fabulous matches on the agenda. Yay! I'm in my element.

I haven't had the time to read all the latest messages. I can see that our kitchen is still open for business. I shall return later. smile

soop Fri 08-Jul-16 13:09:28

annsixty That's a very posh bag. Only the best is good enough. Enjoy!

annsixty Fri 08-Jul-16 13:10:36

Not until Tuesday but I couldn't wait.

Charleygirl Fri 08-Jul-16 13:11:20

soop I am about to nip out for some vegetables for my supper and then I will be superglued to my seat firstly for Roger and then Andy.

Mumsy Fri 08-Jul-16 13:27:10

no watching tennis for me this afternoon Soop Im off out to a strawberry tea.

NanaandGrampy Fri 08-Jul-16 13:28:16

Oh I love your birthday present ann . You have excellent taste !!

Charleygirl Fri 08-Jul-16 13:51:06

N&G I can envisage Sam racing through the house smelling divine. Obviously he has not seen an inviting puddle to roll around in as we have not had a lot of rain recently.

MiniMouse Fri 08-Jul-16 14:05:50

Am feeling rather blush because I turned up on this thread yesterday by default! I'd read a post that was under the 'Last Hour' heading and just barged in uninvited. I hadn't even realised that it was the kitchen thread at the time. Will now scuttle off and pull a weed or two . . . smile

kittylester Fri 08-Jul-16 14:23:07

Don't go Mini, we will be moving to a new kitchen soon and you'll never find us again. Just follow the cake crumbs and empty wine bottle and you;ll find the new one.

I can't stop but I wanted to check on things before this kitchen is mothballed.

And, I'd like to say that my birthday is in January Ann and I do love a handbag!! That is seriously lovely and you thoroughly deserve it. flowers

Right, I'm just off to the new kitchen to put the bubbles on ice. See you there. wine

soop Fri 08-Jul-16 14:25:49

MiniM Don't go too far. There's more than enough room as our kitchen keeps expanding. All tastes catered for.

soop Fri 08-Jul-16 14:27:17

Okay, I have to leave you here and buzz off to open a new kitchen. flowers
