Poo on slippers

I'd clean them, soak in bio washing powder/liquid overnight then bung in the washing machine.
Surely even fox poo won't withstand that?

Because most homes now have a no shoe policy I wear Crocs most of the time so I can slip them on and off easily and can wash them on a regular basis. Always keep old toothbrushes in case heavy duty cleaning is required.

I too wear flip flops all summer - a garden pair always by the back door. I too think you made the right decision (unless they were very very expensive slippers). It's so funny how no one's taken a blind bit of notice of you ending the fabulously titled thread Jings!

So pleased you chucked them. I think the matter was decided when you tied them into a plastic bag, the very thought of opening that bag makes me gag. Flip flops for the garden in summer!!!

Isn't that the truth jingl, " sorry not slipper season " DH used to buy me a pair every year and I have about ten pairs in the cupboard, trouble is they are granny type and I like tarty ones. I don't know about you but once I have trodden in something I feel I can smell it even after rigorous cleaning.

I wear flip flops in and out of the house , if anything untoward finds its way onto them I just stick em under the hose and lay them in the sun. I stick to the paths in the Winter time and thats poo free .

Why do you have to hide the purchase from your husband if you decide to buy new ones ?

Harrigran coming from a family which lived for years pretty near the breadline, I have an inborn frugality which, even in slightly better times, I cannot shift! Hence the dithering. (That and the fact that M&S no longer have normal slippers in my size due to the season )

Funnily enough I didn't think of Harrods, but the local market will probably come up trumps.

TriciaF (from memory) there are ridges. Loads of little ones.

The soles of slippers are usually smooth and easy to clean, whereas wellies, many shoes etc have ridges and the muck gets wedged in. That's why I wear slippers. BTW, if it's fox dirt maybe it is best to bin them. In my experience its yellow and the smell lingers.

Good heavens jingl one does not wear ones slippers outdoors, one changes into garden clogs to enter the garden. As I am loaded I would just sling the slippers in the bin and pop down to Harrod's for a new pair

Having dealt with infants' wellies on a regular basis I feel hot water, a screwdriver, Dettol and LOTS of paper towel (or rags) are enough.

They are in the bottom of the outside dustbin.

Depends how bad they are doesn't it. if you feel happy cleaning them do, if not bin them.

I have a thing about dog and cat poo, in fact any animal that eats meat. It really makes my stomach turn. But I also have a thing about waste (pun not intended ?) and wouldn't throw the slippers away .

If they were mine I'd clean them thoroughly, disinfect and leave with soles upturned in the garden. I would never throw away a new pair of slippers. I don't actually wear slippers, but that's what I'd do. If I did.
