Apparently Google knows everything.

I remember when I was teaching, a teacher was leaving and the kids were making a card. They were thrown because the couldn't find her photo when they put her name in clipart.

I remember when you could see the number of pages in Google stated under the search bar.....probably not room on the whole search page now!

Dr Google knows that every symptom you tap in is a life-threatening horror which will keep you awake all night and take you to A &E in tears next morning.
Dr Google doesn't know about colds (it's pneumonia), sore throats (cancer), indigestion (cancer), spots (meningitis), pulled muscles (it's a compound fracture), headache (brain tumour), cramp (it's tetanus), weight gain (you're pregnant), weight loss (anorexia), whiskers on chin (you're changing sex), depression (too much Google).

It's weird to remember there were search engines before Google, most of which disappeared even though at the time they seemed like the best thing since sliced bread.

Time flies by in this age of technology. I ? Google!

There still are other search engines, it's just that Google have become rather good at what they do.
But don't forget, Google knows nothing other than where to find the information you search for. Always remember that anyone can post web site etc with information that may or may nor be inaccurate or just plain miss-leading or fraudulent. Much of it is very useful, but beware.

GandTea my browser comes with about 5 search engines, some are on your list. Microsoft just can't get Bing up there with Google. Lycos used to be good. I mainly used AltaVista and Ask (Jeeves) before Google came along. Every now and then I give DuckDuckGo a try, but end up going back to Google. Choices, choices.

My GP used Google when I had what he termed a "funny turn" AND he found what he thought it was, TGA.

I love Google. daughte's bathroom basin running only hot water the other evening (there have been lots of issues with new boiler being attached to old pipes)I googled. It told me to put thumb over outlet (to stop water coming out-it did say helpfully to use a cloth if the water was very hot! ). turn on cold then hot Eh voila ! It forces air up the cold water outlet apparently.What I love is you can type in 'what do I do if.....'and it will find it

My DD suffers from health anxiety and Dr Google is a nightmare...She promises she won't look up her symptoms but can't resist a peek, and is then reduced to a nervous wreck.

I still don't think it would have found DGS'S top which was on one of the dining chairs and therefore hidden by the table. As we rarely eat in the dining room, it could have stayed there till Christmas!

Kitty, I'm sure if you asked, Eventually it would have suggested the right place. Typewriter + monkeys = Shakespeare etc.
