Morning from America!!

Huge Congratulations Alea on the safe arrival (finally) of your new beautiful grandson !!

I'm happy to drink champagne for breakfast !! Pop that cork!

Lovely picture of your visitor soop .

Yes wot a fawn is a baby deer .... Think Bambi smile .

Well, it's coffee time for me, we've all slept in a bit this morning .

Happy day to you all x

soop Mon 16-May-16 13:31:56

wot a young deer. Possibly born last year. smile

soop Mon 16-May-16 13:32:58

Happy day to you too NanaandGrampy. I feel very upbeat. the baby news has put a big smile on my face.

Charleygirl Mon 16-May-16 13:48:47

The fawn is handsome also. I would think that Bracken stays well clear of mother. Rory would not be fussed enough to open his eyes.

I woke up at 10.30am today but then reminded myself that I have retired and I can do what I want. Tara gave up persuading me to get out of bed at 5am so decided to join me.

I agree, Alea it would be good for DD to get some help for at least one more night until she is well into the swing of things. Has he been given a name yet and is he their first? I have lost the plot as he has taken his time to arrive.

It's a lovely day. Sunny, 'though a little chilly in the wind.

This morning, MacS went missing for a wee while. It explained that he'd been keeping an eye on Rory. Rory was playing in the garden with his daughter, Bracken. So why be watchful? The response was that Kitten likes to jump out from behind a bush and chase Rory around the lawn. [Hmm] Rory "isn't as young as he was..." MacS fears that he may "overdo things..." grin

Leicester City Foxes football team is TOP of the Premier Division. I'm not a fan of football. However, to hear that my Leicestershire sons and grandsons are having the time of their lives, makes me extremely happy (for them, the supporters and the city. I trust that my eldest son (55 in July) won't be on the local television yet again. He was filmed dancing like a whirling dervish. He rarely touches alcohol. More of a pot of tea man. Goodness only knows how he'll survive tonight's celebrations to be held in the park very close to his home.

soop Mon 16-May-16 17:01:15

He (not it) explained...

Hello, I'm back on line and what wonderful news Alea, congratulations to all. Havent had time to read all through so apologies to anyone who has shared important news, not ignoring you, just won't have the space to read all through for last week. The fawn is beautiful Soop, lovely to see a beautiful little boy and the fawn on my first visit back to the kitchen. Nothing in the cupboard to share, but I will have croissants for breakfast tomorrow, so will share some then.

A glass of bubbly will be gratefully received here wink thank goodness we can get off those tenterhooks now!

I decided to stay in today, catch up on the ironing and clean the bathroom. So glad I did because I've got a viewing at 10.30am! Can't really complain can I ? grin

soop Glad to hear that your appointment has arrived, for another undercarriage repair?

soop Mon 16-May-16 17:31:53

Lona Undercarriage repair...yes. grin

Our granddaughter who is to marry her lovely Dutchman in Amsterdam (next year) has successfully run a long-ish race in Bristol. She and Erik did it (the race) together. I'm adding a very pleasing photo that they posted on FB.

soop Mon 16-May-16 17:33:38

They met in a holiday camp in the south of France some four years ago. He returned with her to the holiday camp and proposed marriage on the spot on which they first met. smile

soop Mon 16-May-16 17:34:49

Hello again, cornergran I'm very happy to see you in our kitchen.

soop Mon 16-May-16 17:38:00

Care home visit in the morning. As soon as I return home I shall pop in to catch up with our lovely Kitcheners. Who knows, we may be treated to another photo of the newly born babes. I'm longing to know the names that have been chosen for them. I'm such a nosy wotsit. wink

soop Mon 16-May-16 17:38:41

I`m late coming to the kitchen today, so many congratulations Alea to you and your daughter and SIL, a beautiful baby indeed. Am looking forward to the details, weight, name, etc.
Soop, gorgeous fawn pictures.

Bellanonna Mon 16-May-16 17:59:51

Lovely photo of your beautiful granddaughter, Soop - she has the "soop" genes. how romantic a proposal.
Yes we'd love to hear names for the loopy and Alea grandchildren. And any other details.

mrshat Mon 16-May-16 18:09:26

Great news Alea. He is such a cutie and I love his hat! Congratulations to all flowers

annsixty Mon 16-May-16 18:25:32

Just off for my eye injection so I will have my champagne later.

Alea Mon 16-May-16 18:28:43

Still being a bit one track minded so I hope you will excuse that.
Yes, DGS is their first and much wanted baby having lost their first pregnancy 18 months ago at 14 weeks.
No name yet, birth weight we think about 7lb 11 in old money and I still don't know if he was born last night or early this morning.
DD3 has been in for a cuddle, (we were thinking of perhaps Wednesday if they go home tomorrow)
I do want to let her get some rest, visitors, even Mum and Dad (I mean Granny and Grandpa of course) , are lovely but a new little family also needs time to itself and the new parents need their own space and, as I said REST.

Auntie having her cuddlle smile

Charleygirl Mon 16-May-16 18:36:23

Alea he looks a lot lighter than that weight. Thankfully everybody is fine except being very tired. One cuddle and he is anybody's at present,so handsome and gorgeous, a total sweetie..

Lona Mon 16-May-16 19:50:33

Definitely edible Alea grin sunshine

NanaandGrampy Mon 16-May-16 20:09:47

How beautiful he is Alea !

I admire your self control , but that cuddle will be all the more wonderful for a little wait . I had to wait 2 weeks for my cuddle with DGS4 as we were away. I cherish that moment.

soop good to hear undercarriage repairs are scheduled in!

I was feeling nosey last night and ventured onto a couple of threads and now I wish I hadn't. :-( it's a dog eat dog world out there outside of the kitchen !

NanaandGrampy Mon 16-May-16 20:29:50

Ps soop a lovely photo of your Grandaughter too!! We ladies certainly know how to grow them wink
