He's absolutely gorgeous! Congratulations, Alea! I just wish you hadn't had to go through such a fraught few days even though that's all forgotten, I'm sure, now you know all is well. (((Hugs))) flowers

Alea Mon 16-May-16 03:42:56

<shh baby is sleeping>
it's a boy!
(Don't know birth weight, time or name, not even if he was born on Sunday or this morning - but it's the longest labour I have ever experienced!)

What a lovely girl and I like her name too Lona . Can't beat a bit of tree climbing!

No baby yet Alea !! I was looking at adorable baby clothes today and thought of you. Hope your daughter is doing well.

It's been a very hot day here and we spent a few hours at the water park. Despite our best intentions and cover ups, hats and cream we have been kissed by the sun.

The little boys are with us tomorrow and we have a much quieter day planned except for a lunch excursion. They like as a treat chicken and chips from a fast food chain. Here , there is one that only sells chicken and Jackson refers to it, as we drive past , as Chicken and Chippie World !

Sleep well kitcheners !!

Oh, Lona, see if you can get it on I-player. Especially the cellist who won it. I'm still buzzing. How a 17-year-old can have the maturity to engage so completely with Shostakovich's Cello Concerto is utterly miraculous. It roused me to tears.

Lona Sun 15-May-16 21:22:36

Oh I've missed it anno! I was watching the tribute to Victoria Wood.
Yes, Savannah is four and a half and starts school in September. I can't believe how quickly the time has passed.

annodomini Sun 15-May-16 20:11:06

Isn't Savannah a big girl now, Lona! I remember your writing about her when she was just a baby.
Watching the BBC Young Musician on BBC 4. What wonderful virtuosity in such young people. The breath control and stamina of the girl saxophonist were absolutely outstanding. The horn player was great too and the cellist is still to come. A good evening's entertainment,

annsixty Sun 15-May-16 19:42:30

We have had a wee drop ( red wine) and wish everyone a pleasant evening.

Charleygirl Sun 15-May-16 19:40:04

Lona what a pretty young lady- how old is she?

I am about to cook supper and I may have some wine as it is steak with trimmings.

annsixty Sun 15-May-16 18:10:50

My thoughts are also with them.

soop Sun 15-May-16 18:02:15

Lona Savannah is beautiful. Her name suits her so well.

It's read the Sunday newspaper time. Also, a large G&T is about to be poured. I can hear the chink of ice cubes. grin

Good evening to you lovely peeps. My thoughts are with Alea and her family. Until tomorrow smile moon

Lona Sun 15-May-16 17:54:12

Savannah in the park.

Lona Sun 15-May-16 17:51:31

Charleygirl, my house is still on the market until the papers are signed!
Fingers crossed hmm

It's been a glorious day here, and my son kindly included me in a trip to the park with Savannah, where we had a lovely time.

Where's that baby?????

Charleygirl Sun 15-May-16 17:32:58

I must close some windows before hypothermia sets in. Maybe that is the reason that the little mite does not want to appear- he/she is looking for warmer weather. It will be a long wait, for warm weather that is. I am certain we will hear something has arrived around 3am.

soop Sun 15-May-16 15:45:29

Charleyg You've just reminded me that my washing machine must have finished the cycle about two hours ago! hmm

Charleygirl Sun 15-May-16 15:35:47

Lona has your house been taken off the market and are you now just waiting for exchange of contracts? That can be nail biting but hopefully yours will sail through.

It is a beautiful sunny day here in London but a tad nippy in the shade. My washing machine is working overtime as usual.

soop Sun 15-May-16 13:16:23

A very happy, sunny Sunday to all our Kitcheners.

I've left my visit late-ish in the hope of the news us lot really crave has been delivered. I'm almost certain that the wee one will make an entrance before the day is done. sunshine

Tizliz I'm rather partial to pea and ham soup. I've plenty of crusty bread to go with my share.

kitty and Crafting I'll help you to scoff nibble the Nutella brownies. There was a feast of sticky home-baked goodies at yesterday's tea party. I tried very hard to resist most of it.

number hmm That's a great pity. I've a number of books that are gathering dust. I'm happy for folk to enjoy them. The mobile library made weekly visits to the village until a few months ago. I like that the children have made paper flowers to make the kiosk look homely.

Charleyg The kitchen was becoming a tad crowded. I couldn't let you lot wander around outside. Therefore I hastily opened the new extension. The bubbly is well chilled. We shall raise a glass at the appropriate time.

Lona You'll be well pleased when the sooty job is over and done with. Will you be wearing suitable clothing? On one occasion when my late father tackled an exceedingly messy job, he finished up outside the house in his birthday suit. He then needed to be hosed down. Not a pretty sight.

Lona Sun 15-May-16 09:32:49

??? No patter of tiny feet yet? Ah well, patience is a virtue, as my mother was forever reminding me!

A joyous day ahead, cleaning out the fireplace! I've a gas coal fire which I rarely use and I've blocked the chimney to stop bits of soot etc.falling onto the carpet. I need to remove the blockage, which will be messy.
I can't wait wink

It's a lovely sunny morning here but a bit nippy.
Happy Sunday folks sunshine

Charleygirl Sun 15-May-16 09:09:20

Still no news? What is this little mite up to- does he/she realise how many people are desperate to know if he/she is okay. He/she has spent long enough in mummy's tummy- it is now time to face the real world. I do hope that your DD is okay Alea she must be exhausted by now.

Crafting Sat 14-May-16 22:12:37

Right Alea I'm off to bed. If you have any news, feel free to wake me up with a glass of champers. smile

Charleygirl Sat 14-May-16 21:52:56

I go out to watch a matinee performance of "The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin" to discover that the kitchen had moved. I cannot turn my back it would appear. I only sat through the 3 hours because my nephew had 2 parts in the show- that sort of comedy is not my scene.

I am having an early night and I do hope that there is some news from Alea by morning.

Crafting Sat 14-May-16 20:18:19

Oooh kitty you are awful ...but I like you......just one for me...have another? Oh go on then wink
