Morning all, Bella and I are sitting in the shade in Heraklion. I'm sopping fresh orange juice and she's drinking the most revolting coffee that looks as if you could stand your spoon up in it!?

I did quite deliberately hide my sexuality, always referring to my "partner" rather than Mrs P. But I did not deceive, I never said I was anything.

A comedian after a risque joke said, "When It left my mouth, it was clean", it was your ears that translated it into filth.

Galen yourself and Bella look so relaxed. I am a tad jealous. You are missing superb weather here although today there will supposedly be thunder storms.

NanaandGrampy please do not worry about finding a chair for Tara- she will seek out the largest and most comfortable bed and deposit her body on it. She does prefer a duvet, it is what she has been used to here. Thankfully she still does not like my newish furniture.

GandTea I also thought that you are a woman but I am easily fooled. Life is pleasant here, no nastiness.

Oi, who are you calling revolting G&T ? It sometimes feels like I've got a split personality crafting, especially when life gets hectic. Enforced relaxation for the next few weeks will do me good. Is it time for elevenses yet?

Well, I am not sure what I was doing yesterday to have missed the to-do about 'Spanish immigrants'! Don't worry, my name may not be on that thread, but I wasn't the 'reporter', though I can make a couple of educated guesses. Some dear posters could do with a sense-of-humour transplant. Sadly the egg on face has to be suffered in private! GandTea, I never made the connection and, in fact, thought you were a granny. Well concealed, pompa!

I do love our language where the adjective and the verb are the same but have different meanings. Though to revolt was probably considered revolting once. Am I making sense or have I had too much sun? Not used to it here!

As compensation for those of us who aren't on that cruise (jammy beggars! I'm glad you're both having a lovely time) I'm bringing in a hyoooj box of everybody favourite Magnums.

It's very muggy here today and getting midgy. Been pulling out ashes and sycamores and plum tree suckers and docks so I need to cool down.

Wow! And Wow again. What I had hoped for has in fact happened. Dear GandTea hasn't packed his ukulele and buggered off. I'm thrilled to bits. Let's all have a group hug (with *GandTea) in the middle. That should put a right royal flush in his cheeks.

kitty what is happening with your daughter? Why in hospital? Please tell us. I'm concerned.

nanaK54 and dramatictessa How did you break your arm? You are both most welcome to join us lot. We only have one strict rule - NO bullying. There is quite enough selfishness/snottiness in this world of ours. Us lot believe that in our kitchen we can create a wee virtual place apart from hassle and hatred.

bags It's a tad clammy here abouts. Cannot see the islands as they have disappeared into a haze. It was spotting with rain in Campbeltown.
The ladies in the care home were almost all asleep. The windows were open slightly but there was little fresh air. I almost melted into the carpet.

Will someone please tell me to stay off GN until I have actually booked my holiday flight to Shetland in early September. That is what I logged on for and I keep getting distracted.

Lovely pictures too, those sunsets look glorious. Sadly, tropical storm Colin made landfall yesterday and gave us grey skies and liquid sunshine in buckets !!

Today , my offering is not so much cake as a shared desert Grampy and I shared as our last night on our hols dinner !? Help yourselves! Coffee crime brûlée , a chocolate timbale , mousse thing, lemon cheesecake with a berry sauce and a fruit tart !?

soop and tizliz what amazing sunset pictures. Those sunsets are what I remember so well about June holidays in Scotland. 10 and 10.30. Amazing.

I was hoping the dust might settle on some of the other threads, but no, some members are as het-up as ever. Don't they have lives to live?
In limbo here as DH is due to have a relatively experimental procedure on his heart tomorrow at the John Radcliffe in Oxford and he has been quite poorly for the last week. Running a temperature (but no temp spikes or rigors, so no blues and twos) very breathless and tired, walking across the room proving an effort and off his food. In short all the symptoms of low Hb so I arranged go him to have a blood test yesterday with a top-up of 2 units if necessary. The results were not really low enough to explain the symptoms so thought there might be an infection. He slept for 12 hours and when he woke up his temp was down 2 whole degrees to 36.8. He still feels weak but is having his blood as I write. I felt I had to tell the JR all of this in case they didn't want to touch him with a barge pole, but they have said he is still to go in (5.45 start ???) and they will assess him there. I have already cancelled 2 proposed trips to DD for new baby granny cuddles and it looks unlikely that I can go this week.
Compared to how I have been feeling, the slug saga and all the attendant self righteous indignation seem a bit childish. This is NOT addressed to G&Tea, or any in the "sane and sensible" camp, but those (who fortunately do not feature in the Kitchen) who seem to be taking this opportunity to get the wrong end if the stick and beat all and sundry about the head with it.
I say "how I have been feeling" but of course there are many of you with your own worries re health or family, and I would express my on your behalf not just my own.
