Soop's KITCHENERS

It has been lovely here too. I'm not too far, especially as the crow flies, from where soop is. Last summer was wet and 'orrible here when down south had glorious weather. I'm sure the tables will turn yet again before too long.

Minibags and I are doing a Cornish pasty taste test: working our way through all the different varieties one can buy in a supermarket. This is a big thing for Minibags and makes me hope she might even get onto pies one day. Sunday roasts though... probably not . Anyroad, today's sample needs another fifteen minutes in the oven.

Don't talk to me about weather..... Left home at 0800 heading for the Brecons to climb Pen y Fan in vain hope third time lucky and I will actually see the amazing views.
Drive in reasonably clear conditions, start walking and the sodding cloud comes down and down. 'Never mind, it will clear ' says DH....
By the time we got to Corn Dhu it's 7°. Howling a gale. Visibility c20'.

At the top it's like pea soup.

Walk back down and turn around for one last look.....and it's bathed in sunshine (no, we didn't turn round and go back!)

Ah yes, the weather can be dire on the Brecon Beacons. I think the coldest night I ever spent was in a tent one snowy night. It was quite nice listening to the snow landing on the tent and then, when a certain amount had fallen and settled, it would all slide off with a ripping sort of sound! I didn't get much sleep. The other three campers were not cold. They camped again the second night; I went to a B&B.

I'm living in the wrong place. Heating on and it's cold outside. Today was meant to be warm and DGDs and mum visited with a view to paddling pool and picnic. Instead had to sweep up crumbs from the carpet. Never mind -tomorrow perhaps? DH still recovering from recent sepsis and we just might venture out for lunch. If it's nice and we feel like it. My recent bug has returned and knee causing probs but apart from that on top of the world. Whatever that means.

We actually had some sun today not very warm though. Cut the grass and did some weeding. No sunset as too cloudy now.

I can't understand people who snip at others. I believe that if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all.

I did not switch on the heating because I was warmed up after my tasty chicken supper but I am dressed for winter.

One of my lovely neighbours is going to move a car which was abandoned ages ago. It would have been done weeks ago but the male friend who will be helping him was inconsiderate enough to take a month + off and get married. I will be so glad when it goes because it is almost touching the wall of my house and the leaves + rubbish are piled under the car. I have no idea where it is going and I have not asked! It is in a visitors car park space, dumped by a fellow living in the road off ours, who then left.

Well the weather is one thing I can't complain about lol

Last couple of days of our holiday and thought you might like too see the view as we drove back into the resort.

Disney have a beautiful wedding chapel and obviously some lucky bride has arrived by cinderellas carriage !! I had to feel for the grooms who looked hot in their outfits as its topping 100 degrees x

Guess everyone is asleep now. Just popped in for a brief catchup. Struggling to sleep and this seemed a better thing to be doing than worrying about being awake. Warm if not totally sunny day here today, sorry for those who are experiencing cold. Just thinking how the DGD's would love to see that coach and horses Nandg, come to that so would I! So much has been happening in the kitchen that I really can't bring it all to mind. The fibro-fog is doing its stuff - remembering detail is too big a mountain this evening. So apologies to all, will try to do better. .

The coach is a little girls( and boys) dream isn't it. I wanted to wait to see the bride but it was too darn hot!!

Another dull day here- it is supposed to be very warm and sunny. I will believe it when I see it.

My afternoon will be taken care of, I will be watching Andy hopefully winning his first French Open. I did not realise that it was a 14/12 split with Novak winning.

I will be so glad when the 23rd of June is over and done with, I have heard and had enough.

I hope that the sun is still shining in Scotland- enjoy it as we never know how long it will last.

NanaandGrampy I did love the photo of the horses. Jackson and Cooper would have loved seeing them also.

Oh I want to hide behind a HUGE pile of cakes! It is so hostile out there!! Bags got appalling treatment yesterday and people with whose views I might have been in sympathy in the past are turning me right off with their hectoring and bombast. (That's a good word isn't it?)
There is a vicious streak emerging, potshots taken at all and sundry, this Referendum is causing even more nastiness than the General Election.
I wonder if I will ever feel the same again about some members?
Sigh, rant over. I am going to chill today, (until the tennis when I will be a gibberish wreck). Oh life is hard

Thank goodness we can retreat here and be sure of a calm and peaceful atmosphere. I hope Bags is not too bruised and can join us for a while, along with our other kitcheners.

We can indulge in cake, stroke Rory, admire the view and chat about Galen and Bella on their cruise plus anything else that takes our fancy but definitely NOTHING political!

There's Galen gloating. Well I was walking around my lawn in my dressing gown trying to see what needed doing next and all I achieved was to get soggy PJ bottoms where the dew had soaked in around the ankles.
I even had shake my own muesli into the bowl.

What pleasure does anyone get from being nasty I wonder? Bugger the lot of them!

I have just had a sit on hands moment and actually was nearly very very unkind and I am ashamed of my feelings. A very bad morning here. I want to go to MIA and get on the first available plane, now where is my passport?

Lona Who knows? It's ok to disagree with someone but to get nasty is totally unnecessary. I am not even going to see what its about. I have washing to put out. With a bit of luck I can just put the sheets back on my bed tonight.

I know it is summer when my "summer necklace" comes out! Despite having more beads, baubles and bangles than I know what to do with and which mostly languish unworn in a variety of boxes, come the summer, this little stone necklace goes with everything I wear. It sits nicely on the neck and I find I am literally reaching for it every day!
Oh and a wrist ful of cheapo gold bangles from Sainsbury's!!

shaking your own muesli into a bowl is the way to go... you get more that way.

OMG the sun is out here and I have opened a window. I may even take off my winter cardigan once I establish that the sun is staying. It will be good to get vitamin D naturally for once instead of out of a bottle.

It is a toss up between sun bathing and watching Andy and Novak, the latter won. I can hang out my duvet cover etc during the breaks. Once more I am washing for the county.
