Corinth canal, eh? I enjoyed that a couple of times. So narrow in places. Not sure much room for mischief. You'll probably be on deck sipping the free "champagne" some lines give you. Think it must be a smallish ship to navigate the canal? Hope your weather's better than ours - excpet for Scotland which, I believe, is having a heatwave,while we reach for the central heating again. Both of you, have a great trip and maybe post the odd picture. Well not too odd,just occasional.

Sorry you are feeling down GandTea there are those days when there is not a lot we can do about it, unless you can identify the source of the emotion and it is fixable. I felt like that last night and had to sit on my hands not to express how I felt on certain threads and I didn't want to descend to the same snippy level take it out on you lot. So I sincerely hope that this passes, that the will come out and even if you are not rolling round the floor in helpless giggles, that you achieve a level of contentment to help you through the weekend.

I shall have to try the "sitting on hands" tack. It is getting rough out in the GN world, I find it so hard to hold my tongue. I just have a number of small things that I have no control over that are getting to me.
BUT, we have started dancing classes in our 70's, why didn't we do it years ago, great. Went or our first dance last night and we did get round the floor in the foxtrot, quickstep and rumba.

I used to dance in my teens, just to meet the opposite sex, so why the hell am I doing it now ??

I think it's best to stick to soops kitchen, GandTea - some people are like a dog with a bone out in the real world. I just hope that the referendum goes the right way or we are in for a really torrid time especially if there is another general election.

Where does all the aggressiveassertive stuff come from on GN? In real life we are probably all really nice, kind people but behind the anonymity of posts it seems there are some extremely dominant and opinionated GNs. Are they like that in the real world I wonder? If so I would be avoiding them there too.

I find it quite daunting to even read some of the threads ongoing at present. At least we can retreat to the calm of the kitchen and enjoy more gentle company.

I have brought a tea loaf and some "best" butter ( as my Mum always called butter). Please do try it.

One GN in particular brings out the very worst in me but I keep it to myself although I do see some GNs replying to her comments about how awful GB has now become. If it is that bad, why keep visiting this green and pleasant land which is forever England?

Another dull day here but a bit warmer. With luck I will not have the heating on at 5pm this evening.

Today we are off to Disney Springs, a sort of shopping complex where they have a year round Christmas shop in search of a special tree ornament . We buy one every year and each one brings back a memory so we're looking for something to remind us of the little lads this tear. ( something noisy, dirty and wet I think lol ) .

Grampy has been pleading for a Mickey and friends train set that you set up to run round under your tree and I keep saying no!!! It's big, it will be a bugger to transport and we really don't need it( well HE needs it lol)!.

So please feel free to take bets on who will win this one !

OOOOps! The opponent of Serina is Spanish. I was so wrong. For some reason I thought that she was Dutch. I'm not too clued up with the female tennis players.

When I last looked, the Spanish lady was winning. Back for an update.

The match was very good and I was pleased that the young Spanish girl did not lose her nerve and won.

I am so looking forward to tomorrow- knowing the way that Andy plays it will be nail biting. At least he will be more used to the freezing cold than his opponent who is more used to sunnier climes.

Tomorrow afternoon I shall be glued to my chair. Rory will leave the room. MacSporran will know what's going on in the Novak v Andy match (he'll hear me yelling sound advice) as he potters in the garden. I would LURVE Andy to win. He has the shots. He has the power. Sometimes he loses his cool. He needs to remain focused. Magnums in the freezer.

Another totally miserable day- I can hardly remember what sunshine looked like. We were promised some tomorrow but hopefully not at your expense- there is usually enough to go around.

It's been like a Turkish bath here in Cheshire, and I'm not complaining!
I do love having all the big windows and double doors open. The breeze through the house is lovely.
