The ups and downs of moving. Pleased for you lona, but sad for your friend kitty. Think both deserve a large drink. Can send some nice dry white wine if that is helpful? Much better today, throat is manageable, eating again, two little girls here to cheer me and tell me what to do smile. Haven't managed to go out but they are happy enough. n&g pleased I got my cuddle with Sam before the gastric issues. Still dry here, so lucky, all in all no grumping here today.

I promised you lot that I would return to catch up with your newsy news. So much has been happening. You've all been kept busy.

Good to have you back, GandTea I was hoping that you hadn't gone on a long walkabout. When I saw the wee door in the tree trunk I thought...hmm so that's where he goes for rest and relaxation. Tyke!
As for your lapses of memory, I'm a little that way inclined when it comes to remembering characters in a book and, any drama that is over-complicated is a no-no. I'm still trying to figure out who was responsible for what in a recent TV series (the name of which escapes me) wink

Galen Out of the mouths of babes...grin Get crocheting pretty darn quick. Perhaps you'd better go on the boat trip first. Longing to hear how you and Bellasnana are slumming coping with all that laidback luxury. I do hope that you've packed the pearls.

dustyangel I knew that Bags would be able to help with naming the shrub. She's extremely well informed.

number It's a delightful spot. Deer, lambs, ducks and chickens. A wee paradise for young visitors. I happened across a scruffy dog. No collar and acting in a timid manner. I knocked on the doors of the two holiday homes. No response. Caught the eye of a chap about to drive his van away...he told me that the dog belongs to folk on the hill. the dog spends much of the day roaming around. It upset me. I'm easily bothered if I feel that an animal is looking less than happy.

Alea your garden is lovely.

Crafting and cornergran The sun continues to shine. I hope that you get your fair share.

NanaandGrampy Keep up the good work. You are both doing fine. Thank you for sharing your holiday adventure with us lot.

The care home visit was one of mixed blessings. M is convinced that someone she knows has died and that she's missed the funeral. No amount of reassurance from staff would convince her otherwise.
Our pal is back in his bed. He's awaiting results of a brain scan after his third (and worst) stroke. He believes that he's been on a long train journey. He also thinks that he's still in hospital. He asked his wife, 'do we still have a dog?' They do, but he couldn't remember the dog's name.

The little baby, Liam, who was murdered by his mother, is on my mind. Such wilful cruelty is heart breaking.

This morning, I received a phone call from a lady in the Glasgow hospital. She apologised for the fact that the guaranteed date of my procedure (June 12th) may not be met. The waiting lists are under serious pressure. I said that I understood. We're lucky to have the NHS. I shall continue to remain patient.

Ironing duty for my pal tomorrow. I shall return to our kitchen after lunch. If I've overlooked any messages, please bear with me.

smile moon

Lona That is good news. Enjoy a wee tipple. You deserve it.

soop Tue 31-May-16 17:14:29

kitty what a nightmare for your friend and her husband. I was shocked to hear about the airborne gazebo. Thank goodness no harm was done. Breathe! smile

Bellasnana Tue 31-May-16 18:17:25

Good evening, all. So happy for you Lona it is such a relief when things work out.

I will not bore you with the minutiae of my life at present. Suffice it to say I can't wait for Friday when I fly to Rome to meet up with 'Galen' on Saturday and sail away from all this hassle. grin

Good wishes to all of you, especially those dealing with life's bumps in the road.flowers

Galen Tue 31-May-16 18:29:20

That's presuming I get there with the French air traffic controllers strike

Galen Tue 31-May-16 18:30:48

Soop I haven't even thought about packing yet and I'm working on Thursday and Friday

kittylester Tue 31-May-16 18:35:02

It seems to me that a group (((hug))) is in order - lots of us need it and Lona can spread good vibes.

Bellasnana Tue 31-May-16 18:48:08

Darned French! I shall not be amused if something puts a spanner in the works, Galen angry

I did start packing today but haven't a clue what to take and have realised most of my trousers are falling off me so no good at all. Help!

Tomorrow I have the doors being installed, also the kitchen (three whacking great cheers) and possibly the roller shutters. Whether it actually happens is anyone's guess. The Maltese work to their own strange schedule so one never knows for sure if they will turn up at the appointed hour grin

Galen Tue 31-May-16 18:49:30

I'll join in Athens if necessary

Bellasnana Tue 31-May-16 18:55:14

That's all very well, but how would I get on board without you shock

Lona Tue 31-May-16 19:04:21

Oh I'm delighted to spread good vibes! Bella you'd better do some serious eating on this cruise or you will be wasting away. I wish I could come and help you with all the mither of workmen, and get you settled.

Galen please sort the French out!

Galen Tue 31-May-16 19:56:43

Easy. Download your boarding pass on the voyage personaliser and show it to them. They only need to see it! They don't keep it.

Galen Tue 31-May-16 19:58:05

I'll ring you from Heathrow to tell you what's happening on sat am

Tizliz Tue 31-May-16 20:12:12

Bellasnana and Galen can I be nosy? Did you meet on gransnet of know each other from elsewhere?

Don't want to upset anyone but I don't think that plant is Broom. I will have to have a better look on the big screen tomorrow. Usually at home on Tues but had a few problems with couriers and needed to be in the office today. So tomorrow I hope to do some gardening.

Tizliz Tue 31-May-16 20:13:16

I proof read that!

Not 'of' but 'or'

Galen Tue 31-May-16 20:13:28

Met on GN

Galen Tue 31-May-16 20:16:14

Ah! Might be able to get an internal flight to Naples if necessary

Nelliemoser Tue 31-May-16 21:36:29

GandT I have just looked up "aphantasia" what a bugger for you. It must make life very difficult at times.
I can see how demoralising it must be for you.

At 50 I discovered I was dyslexic which explained my poor GCE results.
I have problems with short term visual memory and working memory. I always could read aloud very well but I don't always remember what I have just read or looked at. I usually need to refer back to the text.
Hence I am hopeless at cards and those list the items on the tray party games. I can see how demoralising it must be for you at times.

GandTea Tue 31-May-16 21:54:45

Nellie, having never known visualization, I don't miss it. Only realised I was this way about a year ago. It does seem odd to me that some can visualize, I was quite surprised when my partner said that they could "see" our GCs faces in her mind. I could never describe a person in any detail unless I was looking at them or a photo. I can remember things like hair colour, length, style (if it is unique), skin colour, birth marks etc, but I could not put these together in my mind as an image.
OK, I admit it, I'm weird. grin

Charleygirl Tue 31-May-16 21:55:30

The weather today has been abysmal here. I have had the heating and lights on since lunch time.

Galen and Bellasnana I did not realise that the cruise was happening quite so soon- you will have a great time. Will you have your personal butler?

Lona that really is good news- I think though that I may keep my fingers crossed until exchange of contracts and that should be fairly soon I would hope.

NanaandGrampy I do hope that Sam is feeling better- he can recuperate here anytime.

Tara came home at lunchtime resembling a drowned rat. Dried off on my bed and then took over my computer chair for 8 hours. She has retired to bed now, that is the life.

soop oh dear, another wait, hopefully it will not be too long.

GandTea Tue 31-May-16 22:01:42

Yes, it's back to winter again here.

Galen Tue 31-May-16 22:26:54

No butlersad Princess don't have them

Crafting Wed 01-Jun-16 02:10:02

Have to take Gary with you then Galen. I am sure he can butle with the best of them grin. Hope you and Bellasnanna have a wonderful time.
