The proper way to.....

Although we have gin at home, it really is a holiday tipple for me. DH doesn't like it. I also used to think I disliked it when I was young, but then when pregnant, it was one of my cravings, along with menthol cigarettes. ( At that time I didn't drink or smoke, and still don't smoke) . Nowadays I do enjoy the occasional G&T, however it comes

It's H's tipple when on the spirits he says ice, gin, tonic, slice.

When I make one it is generally the ice, the slice, then the gin and finally the tonic. Delicious!

Have to say that I wouldn't be able to tell what order it went in if I was handed one - nor would I worry!

Or even two?
I have to say, I don't like ice in my G&T or lemon, it has to be a slice of lime.The gin goes in first, then a fair bit of tonic, then the lime.Mmmmmmn.?????

Never enough tonic in mine to allow that to happen,but I get your point.

Because if you put the ice in last it might make the drink overflow and that would be a criminal waste

In goes in any old order in our house but the tonic is always last.

As long as all those four components are in the same glass and in my hand I am not bothered as to the order.

I'd heard that GILT was the correct way -gin, ice, lemon, then tonic (to the strength preferred). Lovely!
