I wonder if you have funny stories from school.

I was known as the phantom ink flicker. Can you remember the old cartridge ink pens?

Much to my dismay now I used to think it hysterical if I started a new trend. Flicking ink all over the boy in front sweater. They never had a clue until one day the boy in front turned around and got splattered all over his face with ink.

I was summoned to the head masters office and was throughoughly told off. Have you got anything to say girl. Yes, well the ink is the washable kind so won't stain sir. I was made to write 500 lines. I will not flick ink. Too late as it became quite a trend :-)

Have you got any funny stories.

That's just not nice.

Especially in the days when people didn't have washing machines, and were often very hard up.

hmm not sure I'd think that funny. Let alone for poor mum having to wash his jumper every day.

My friends and I used to make woolly pom poms by pulling the fluff off our woolly jumpers and making little balls out off the fluff. Not particularly funny but it was a fad at our school for a while until the novelty wore off.

In the '60s my friend Alan had a corduroy jacket with ink flicks on the back. He was a secondary teacher but not for very long.
He and a friend got the British Council to send them to deliver Shakespeare to Iran or thereabouts for a year or two.

Well jinglebells the boy in question did actually throw my brand new satchel into a pond with all green slime on the top. So I suppose it was a bit of revenge for me having to wade in and get it. In our school we all had washing machines in those days. It was only a couple of times but the trend took off big time.

I was only around twelve and did get a telling off from my mum at the time.

Confession is good for the soul :-)

We once had a reception class who all mixed their powder paints together. In those days the paint was put into bun tins. All their paintings were the same Maroon. The children were always referred to as The Maroons right through school.
Once the local Vicar came and he accidentally sat on the edge of one of the paint tins. Maroon powder covered the back of his jacket. No one was brave enough to tell him
