Who still wants an Easter Egg?

I have never tasted Hotel Chocolat but recently bought some to put into birthday gift for ddil. Little packs of 7 chocolates which were half price at around 1.75. As the postage was 4.50 regardless of how many were bought, I decided to buy 6 packs to use as treats for adults as and when appropriate.

Dh and I decided not to get Easter eggs as we have still a box of Milk Tray...... now half a box

Because of the poor value in an egg I bought dgs a Ludo game and a chocolate orange. Dgd got a pretty bunny(THMaxx) on a ribbon to hang up and a chocolate orange.

I got a Thorntons Butterfly one, a Cadburys Freddo Faces one, a Maltesers one, and a Cadburys hollow one in a bag with Easter bunnies and things, and some little pink and white ones from Hotel Chocolat. Still got one to come from DS. (I hope)

No I don't, I am allergic to chocolate. However, I did sneak a bag of sports mixtures into the trolley yesterday so that's my treat. I am not going to share them either...

DH usually buys a special Hotel Chocolat egg for us to share. I haven't seen one yet, but I'm still hopeful. ?

I love receiving an Easter egg. I have made this known and DH (of 20 months) has dutifully purchased something. As he told me the size, the price and where he bought it from, I have a fairly good idea of what I am getting!

We have bought modest eggs for family this year - £3 instead of the £6-8 that we have often spent, but we have also bought lots of cream and Lindt eggs to have in a big bowl. I don't think anyone will feel hard done by.

Have to say - the M&S eggs (advert) look stunning - I would rather have smallish / classy than big but ordinaire (but suspect I will receive the latter). Picky? Moi? Not ungrateful - but as Sally (When Harry Met Sally) would say 'I want it the way I want it. ' I think Dh gets a bit exasperated .

We bought my GD (18) and her bf a buttons egg each and left them on the table of our apartment we're letting them stay in this weekend as a surprise so bought an extra one 'just in case' - of course it lasted just until we got home Last night my husband came in from work and one of the girls in his office had bought everyone an egg which was such a nice thought. He cracked that open last night and my half is mostly still in tact .......

Me too. Lots. And Cadbury Creme Eggs. Basically anything covers in chocolate...and lots of it.

Considering the Ocado bags stuffed full of 'em in the bottom of my spare wardrobe, they'd better be forthcoming.

My husband has never bought me an Easter Egg. I had a friend who used to send me eggs from Hotel Chocolat and they were wonderful. I picked up my grandchildren from school yesterday and every child had been given a Cadburys egg. it took some effort to stop them eating them in the car on the way home!

Yes please, dark chocolate, preferably mint. The bigger the better! To hell with calories.

We have a tradition of a secret Easter Bunny for the adults, so each adult in the family gets one egg. The children get loads and need help with disposing of them

anniegran, could you not buy some of those plastic egg shells and fill them with little gifts? Would be fun for the children to hunt and find, and satisfy the parents' strictures.

Actually, I was with the family one year and we did this for an Easter children's party. It was great fun, and no chocolate was involved

We were so pleased that our youngest two grandmonsters, 4 and 5, have moved back to Britain (with their parents) and we were looking forward to doing an Easter egg hunt. The parents are very politically and dietary correct so DH asked if it would be OK. The answer was only 1 small egg, per child, not per relative, and only from Freetrade chocolate.

As that would be a very short egg hunt we won't bother. Some people have a knack of sucking the fun out of every occasion. Poor little mites. I think it might be a result of DH buying them fish fingers, chips and peas when he was out with them last week baby sitting. Oh my!

I do not have a sweet tooth and do not particularly like chocolate, but I would be lost without my annual dose of chocolate every Easter.

We can have chocolate any time of the year so it doesn't really affect us other than we might get a box of cadbury's cream eggs in when they are on offer. I'm a collector so DH tends to let me purchase a coveted item on occasions like Valentine's, Easter, Birthday's and Christmas rather than the norm. I send money to the kids and grandkids though, there's so many choices in eggs I don't know what to get for them.

Reese's chocolate peanut butter eggs have called my name ever since they started making them. Most years I can avoid them. It's hard to resist when you see them marked so cheap after Easter.

Maltesers or smartie egg please.I

Although I do not fancy chocolate as much as I used to, I still adore an Easter Egg. My favourite part is the bit near the base which is always thicker than the rest of the egg.
I wish that they would put the extra sweets back INSIDE the egg as they did years ago. There was something special about opening the egg to find these 'hidden treasures'.

I love chocolate any time of the year. My children are older but they still have a Easter egg. My GD is only 7 months so I will be buying her some clothes but next year I bet she will want a Easter egg.

As with Christmas presents we gave up the eggs when the children were small as we just couldn't afford to splash out on everyone. Later I used to buy a box of Thornton's Continental Assortment for the DH and I to share but I now make Florentines instead. We have agreed that this year we will forgo the bought chocolates until after Easter and then Hoover up the chocolate bargains in the knock downs. Waitrose always have some lovely yellow stickered goodies. I once got ten strips of Lindt bunnies down from £2.79 a strip to ten pence a strip of five. Bargainous!
