Those books are very funny jingl. I haven't seen the Mum one but I got DSiL 'The Husband' for Christmas grin
I think he thought some bits were a bit rude shock

BBbevan Fri 04-Mar-16 16:28:15

lucid Fri 04-Mar-16 16:30:29

Doesn't seem long since we had the children's version Ladybird books knocking about the house for them.

Luckygirl Fri 04-Mar-16 16:38:58

We have had a couple of these - the one about the art gallery is hysterical.

Badenkate Fri 04-Mar-16 16:49:24

I gave 'The Husband' to DSs and 'The Wife' to DDiLs as little extra presents at Christmas. I got 'Mid-life Crisis' for my birthday (quite flattered!).

The mindfulness one is hilarious,. gave it to my workaholic hard working daughter in the vain hope that even a tongue in cheek look at mindfulness would slow her down....it didn't work but did make her laugh

grannylyn65 Fri 04-Mar-16 17:09:55

Mindfulness ???!

grannyqueenie Fri 04-Mar-16 17:10:26

Oops posted too soon. that should have read -workaholic !
And meant to add, thanks jingle for the idea of a reversed mothers day gift

MiniMouse Fri 04-Mar-16 17:11:53

These are brilliant! I gave the Mindfulness one to my yoga teacher!

merlotgran Fri 04-Mar-16 17:19:57

Too late for Mother's Day unfortunately but a great idea for DD's birthday in May as I usually try to find something funny to go alongside a 'real' pressie.

merlotgran Fri 04-Mar-16 17:24:33

In fact the Mindfulness one looks right up her street. grin

baubles Fri 04-Mar-16 17:25:09

Thanks jings I've just ordered one to be delivered to DD. Hope she likes it. smile

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 04-Mar-16 17:26:25

Ooh, there are going to be some pleased daughters. smile

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 04-Mar-16 17:28:40

Yes. I wish I'd seen it sooner metlot. I found it when I was having a quick visit to the Other Place. They've got a list of 'Books to buy Mum'. They seem to be making more of Mothers Day over there.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 04-Mar-16 17:29:56

(the Other Place is Mumsnet, for any newer posters/readers)

morethan2 Fri 04-Mar-16 17:58:57

Thanks for the tip, I need a laugh so does my DiL

merlotgran Fri 04-Mar-16 18:02:57

Changed my mind and have sent one to DD2. I've already bought DD1 a bottle of Prosecco wink

mumofmadboys Fri 04-Mar-16 19:54:27

I saw this in WHSmiths today if anyone else wants one

Katek Fri 04-Mar-16 20:19:23

I bought dsil The Hangover one for Xmas.......everybody else thought it was funny!!

Deedaa Fri 04-Mar-16 22:24:47

DD and I bought the Dad book for each other. Then I bought The Wife and she bought The Mum. Several pages of The Mum summed up her life so brilliantly - I love them.

Iam64 Sat 05-Mar-16 08:46:56

We've bought copies of that for our daughters, both of them are celebrating their first mother's day as new mums. I bought the Ladybird book of Sheds for himself on Valentine's Day. He had to laugh, though he tried hard not to. The new Ladybird books on Mindfulness and being a Hipster are also entertaining.
