Not personally, but my DH has. He used to bring me a crochet magazine, a bi-monthly publication. I have a few sets of two!

No, but /I have placed some odd items in the fridge, including matches and teabags!!!

I will soon be the proud owner of 60 geranium plug plants. I only wanted half that amount but put the items in the basket twice and did not notice until it was too late. Telling myself to be more careful in future I then intended to order a multi pack of Hoover filters but ordered a single one instead.

I have ... but worse than that, I was in WHSMith last week and bought a magazine and left it sitting at the self service checkout!

Oh yes! I've done this with a House Beautiful I think it was, or one of those homes magazines, they are not cheap! So annoying.

Pot up the extra plants and grow them on before offering them to your local charity shop. Alternatively they will make lovely gifts for friends and neighbours. I had a similar accidental purchase on a gardening website lately and now have 5 packets of Californian Poppy seeds, enough to grow about 600 plants !

That is a very good idea Espee, I will do that. About the poppy seeds, are they the ones opium comes from? Just a thought.

I've bought the same book twice a couple of times (does that make sense?)... So easy to do with Kindle books but I've done it with paper novels too!

If I try to buy a book I've already bought for my Kindle, I am reminded not to buy it again. Last week I tried to buy Claire Tomalin's 'Jane Austen, a Life' and was informed that I'd bought it last year but had no recollection of the purchase - and I hadn't read it, so not sure what prompted me to buy it.

Anno I am always doing that - thank goodness for Kindle reminders!
I have a kitchen cupboard full of cleaning sprays, J cloths and bleach which have been duplicated/triplicated and have more than once bought the same magazine twice. Must be an age/memory thing?

But I've bought both versions of the same book so haven't been reminded, darn it! And once it took a second reading to realise I didn't like the stupid book in the first place - soooo annoying!

Worst thing I did was buy a book from the local Oxfam bookshop, suspecting I had read it before, BUT when I looked inside found it was MY OWN COPY which I had given them a few weeks/months before.

Alea that's so funny My downfall is food - I buy stuff and put it in the freezer then forget about it, see the same thing on offer and buy it again. We went shopping yesterday and when I was putting yet more frozen goods away discovered we already had enough food in there to feed the entire street. Same with cat treats - no wonder our house has a secret sign in the garden saying cat hotel !!

I've done it with gravy granules, Bisto gravy powder and thickening granules, Tesco granules etc!
I hardly ever make gravy!

It would be very annoying to buy the same magazine twice or leave it behind as today's magazines are rubbish.
I get a complimentary Good Housekeeping from my bank it comes by post and after a quick 5 min flick through it goes to my neighbour. I used to love it. I think the cover price is £4.10.
Sorry now back to topic. Actually will just add one more thing. We had a neighbour until just a few years agowho would buy mags like House Beautiful pick their brains for the nicest ideas and had the money (and a very patient H ) and would carry them out, her home was like wallking into a show house.
When they moved she had the perfect opportunity to go mad. I only went once and came back

I have done the magazine thing! Usually when I've bought a glossy en route to somewhere, to read while waiting. Only to discover the same mag at home. I usually pass the copy on to a friend.

Alima, Sorry, have just seen your question. California Poppies are not the kind you get opium from.(I do have some opium poppies in the garden). I got back from California earlier this month and they mostly grow marijuana over there. (Legally!)

Getting back to the magazine theme. I've bought the same TV paper twice for the same week. There is nothing more useless. Also bought monthly magazine twice. I've done it so often I don't buy magazines now unless I'm sure it's the right one for the right month or week.

Get a magazine subscription, cheaper and you always get just one.
