Weird food combinations

I accidently had Nutella and Marmalade it was delicious

Peanut butter, crunchy of course, and golden syrup...yummy

Fried bread sprinkled with sugar, tastes like doughnuts - I was introduced to this by a school friend's Maltese mum.

Delia Smith has a recipe for apple pie made with cheese pastry, it's delicious.
I like crunchy peanut butter with honey on toast, don't think it's very unusual though.
I also like a cheese sandwich made with hot cross bun instead of bread.
I also make a cheese and herb bread and butter pudding sometimes. Serve with a watercress salad.

When I lived in a Nurse's home, afternoon tea was cheddar cheese and raspberry jam sandwiches. Probably we were supposed to have one or the other but we lumped them together for speed. If I could blag an apple from a patient then I would have cheese and apple sandwiches.

My family think I'm odd because I like banana and marmalade on toast. For me they're a match made in heaven!

Eating cheese with fruit cake is quite a normal thing, personally I like a lovely creamy Lancashire cheese with it, but my grandfather always ate it with Cheddar. Christmas cake or Christmas pudding fried in butter has been a tradition in our family since my grandfather was a child!
We always serve apples with cheese in a salad, and I make apple and cheese muffins, they're glorious!

Everyone turns up their nose when I eat my favourite : tomatoes on toast.

While the toast is in the toaster, I put the tomatoes in the microwave for 2-3 minutes until they are mushy, then put them on the buttered toast and sprinkle with salt- mushy, slushy, luvvly comfort food.

JackyB, you are not alone. I am very partial to tomatoes on toast, though I fry the tomatoes in a small amount of olive oil and serve sprinkled with chopped basil. As I live alone there is no-one here to disparage my tastes.

I once asked one of the residents at the care home I worked in ,what was his idea of weird food, quick as a flash he replied 'Black pudding and meringues!!!

My auntie made us banana sandwiches with Cadbury's Flake. Yum.

I have a friend who maintains that EVERYTHING can be put on a sandwich!

We occasionally have a nice croissant breakfast which is really just the aforementioned croissant with scrambled and bacon ... to this my lovely but strange husband adds in lashings of cheese, jam (any flavour) and then even more lashings of ketchup over everything and may have a pickle on the side.
He does put some weird combinations on his plate, but I blame this on him being Danish!

It might be a Scottish thing but my father used to eat butter (big slabs of it) and sugar sandwiches. Yuck!

My Uncle had sugar on buttered toast for breakfast every day of his life.

Why do they have to tell us how bad nice things are for us? Sigh!

Apple sandwich. Sometimes I sprinkle some sugar on it, sometimes cinnamon. Best with a tart apples like Granny Smiths.

In Portugal they don't get apple sauce with pork or cranberry sauce with turkey.

Am definitely going to try some of these!??

I have an aversion to mushy tomatoes, I can't touch them let alone eat them, yuck !

My MIL used to do tomatoes on toast sprinkled with curry powder which was lovely - my own mother would put left over mash on toast. When I called from my friend on the way to school 50 odd years ago she would be having fried bread with marmalade on for breakfast or toast dipped in brown sauce both of which I tried and loved as well!

Grilled cheese and banana on toast is good ! Eaten this since a uni friend introduced it to me
