Mr/Mrs Tigywinkle has moved on.
Inspired by the lovely weather, despite a foggy start, I did some more tidying in the border and the "nest" of moss and grasses is empty, the plastic tray with cat food in is a Mary and there is no sign of my little spiky friend.
Go well little one, come back and see us sometime, I still have 2 sachets of cat food for you

It's time to move to paper plates soop for times like this.

Out of mine I can see several coughing birds, a stalking cat from next door and behind me I can hear Sam waiting for the door to be opened so he can make a stab at catching the cat or the birds ( neither will happen thankfully - he's a spaniel not a greyhound )!!

I am not very good at this lark; sitting and lying aboot the hoos is no fun. I feel totally knackered because I cannot do anything remotely busy without getting a fit of the vapours. Thank you all for your kind messages. You are a truly lovely lot

I'm logging on to discover whether or not the first of my items of clothing are about to sell on eBay. One silk skirt has a bid on it of £1.99 and, within the next 30 mins, if no-one puts in a higher offer, that is what it will sell for. I don't think I can deal with the mounting excitement. There are ten garments waiting in the wings. On a handful I've put a set 'buy-it-now' price based on their previous high value. If none sell, then the Red Cross shall have a suitcase full of donations.

TriciaF MacS pretended to be cross when he returned home to a spotless kitchen. He believes that I should do nothing...and, I disagree. I've since cleaned the bathroom (he was in the loft.) Don't say anything.

Off to check eBay activity. I shall then suggest helping MacSporran with preparing the meal. He will look at me in a certain way...after which, I becomingly.

Take good care of yourselves. I'm certain that perhaps after another day or so feeling like a well-used dishcloth I shall be feeling normal almost normal again.

"Dirty dishes are very patient - they'll wait forever" - a friend used to just push them into the under-sink cupboard and forget about them. But like you, I couldn't do that.
Glad that at least you were able to get out of bed and go to the kitchen, soop.

Never mind the dishes soop they will still be there tomorrow. The important thing is for you to rest and get better

Hello dear Kitcheners Have popped in to our kitchen just to catch up with your news. Then...back to bed. Still feeling lousy. MacSporran is looking after me beautifully (as usual) and has gone into Campbeltown to do the weekly shop. No visit to the care home today. I thought that I might do a few simple enough chores in his absence. Oh dear! Managed to wash the breakfast dishes and then went all woolly-legged, hot and bothered. A buggeration, in other words.

You have all been busy and, it goes without saying, delightful, supportive company for each other. I wish that I had a tablet-thingy. I could then keep in touch from the bedroom. Our computer takes an age to boot-up. It's also non-portable. Never mind.

I was watching the birds through the bedroom window yesterday. I believe, though I could be mistaken, that a plover was in the copse. A deer and her last year's fawn settled down in a sunny patch and I watched them for a long time. Their markings were perfect camouflage. I've checked the spelling in the 'Modern Handy Portable Dictionary of the English Language (Self-Pronouncing) Condensed Edition'. Inside is the inscription - 'to MacSporran from Daddy and Mummy. November 3rd 1947'. That would have been a seventh birthday gift.

I'm toddling away to my bed for an hour or so. I hope to return a little later for a further catch-up. Love to you all.

We have a free day , no little ones, no real appointments or chores. I am hoping to get into my crafting room. My niece has asked me to make a birthday card for her Dad and an anniversary card for her Dad and his wife.

When people ask who my hero is - one person that always springs to mind is my brother. His marriage imploded through no fault of his own when his daughter was 2 and his wife who took the child originally 'gave her back' to my brother when she fell pregnant as she said she couldn't cope with 2 children.

My brother was Mum and Dad to his little girl with input from our Mum and all of us sisters. His ex went on to have 5 more children , coming back into her daughters life when she needed a babysitter.

I wont list the ways she's been mean and spiteful but through it all my brother has NEVER said a bad word about her. His daughter has no idea of the 'back story' and adores her Mum ( although the women is no Mum in my mind).

So I'm thrilled to be asked to make some cards for her to give to them , his wife ( of 3 years) has been a ray of sunshine too and we all love her , for the way she treats his daughter and for the way she treats him. He so deserves it.

Despite DH feeling rough, he made it out to lunch today with my half-brother (if you remember my surprising news back in the summer) and his wife, and his cousin with whom they are staying (just 3 miles from us) and her partner. It was a lovely long lunch and we chatted lots. Funnily, I find I like him better than the only other time we had met back in the summer. DH thinks it was because I might get have been more relaxed and have got used to the idea! It is still quite strange though to have an older brother.

Dd1's birthday tomorrow. Casting my mind back 41 years when I presented myself at Queen Mary's Hospital, Roehampton to have my baby delivered by C section the next morning. I was very very nervous! Gosh so much has happened since then, mostly good, occasionally challenging!

Oh no ! get well soon soop.

That sounds nasty. I hope MacSporran now feels well enough to look after you.

I agree, you have to look after yourself soop. Will you receive any comfort from Rory? We will all manage fine and no doubt somebody will pop into the kitchen with a freshly baked cake or scones. I am no baker so it will not be me!

soop don't you worry about the rest of us. I can always whip up a batch of cakes if supplies are low. You need to get better. So just accept that you are the patient this time and MacSporran needs to look after you.

Good morning to our dear Kitcheners...it is a brilliant day and I am unable to leave my bed. I've just popped in to log on to our ancient puter as I would hate you to think that I'm neglecting you.

To say that I feel rough is a gross understatement. I caught this bug from MacSporran...he caught it from our good pals in the village. The villagers have shared it amongst themselves. I can barely swallow because my throat feels so sore. The cough is bad. I feel hot and cold in equal measure. Also feeling nauseous but not being sick.

Anyway, that's enough of me. I must log off and return to my bed. I shall be thinking of you lot throughout the day. Please take good care of yourselves.
