Good morning, all.

Just to tell you that Feetlebaum, whom some of you will remember, for his sometimes caustic wit and comments, has died. I think he last posted at the end of December. He was a FB friend which is how I know - his brother posted on his page.

I shall miss him!

Very sorry to hear this sad news, I enjoyed his posts he seemed a bit of a maverick and very interesting. He will be missed, we don't have that many men who post on GN which is a shame.

Very sad news. I always enjoyed his contributions, and it often seemed to me that we had quite a lot in common. I am sure we will all miss him.

Thanks, jingl. I couldn't find it when I looked earlier. smile

Next time we have one of those threads asking, Who Would You Invite to Dinner, feetle will be top of my list. He no doubt had many more tales to tell.

I do hope his family will be told about this thread on GN so that they can look at it and realise how much he was part of the GN community and how much many of us will miss him.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 29-Jan-16 14:25:59

That thread is in Actives at the moment merlot On it Feetle explained what a radio accumulator was, after I mentioned how we used to get ours charged up on Saturdays. smile

Yes. Beautiful song.

merlotgran Fri 29-Jan-16 13:54:23

I think feetlebaum's last post on here was on 14th January on the Children's Radio thread (sorry not sure how to do links)

One of the loveliest records I heard as a child was How Beautiful They Are from The Immortal Hour (Richard Broughton). It was sung by Webster Booth. Once again, pure magic...

Here it is

Can you imagine Feetle at the gates of heaven?

"Err, rather not if you don't mind. I wonder...could you tell me? Is there a decent gentlemen's club round here at all?"

sad

So sorry to hear the news, I found Feetlebaum to be very knowledgeable about music and very interested to read his posts. Sad that he died alone.
