Saw this one on mums net and hope it has not been done before, if so apologies. Where would you be married if it had to be where you met your partner. It made me smile as I met DH will working with his sister as saturday girl in Woolworths - gives walking down the asile a different feel. Yes it was a long while ago, over 50 years now.

In my friend's living room. She hasnt moved, and she is still my friend so a wedding there would be no problem!

In Piccadilly bus station in Manchester at midnight. I was going home and he was on nights, both in the police. That was fifty years ago and thankfully we've been divorced for nearly 24 yrs.

In the Haematology Lab at the Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford, where we worked. We were reprimanded for walking down the hospital corridor hand-in-hand, then sent to work at different local hospital Path labs.

Divorced just prior to retirement after both spending our entire working lives as biomedical scientists in the NHS.

We did, sort of. Met in our first term at St Andrews (admittedly at a party) and returned 4 years later after graduation to marry in the University Chapel.

In a farmyard!
No so sure about holding a wedding there though (39 years at the end of the month)

I answered his knock on our front door - of our shared house smile
We four (girls) shared a house. We've been married 48 years.

Outside the Cinephone cinema on Bristol Street, Brum. Stylish cinema in 1957, showed classy foreign films and had a coffee bar on the first floor with a plate glass window. Long demolished, after a later incarnation showing a less salubrious type of film.

In a run down old coast guard hut that was the university sailing club, long since demolished and the whole area completely landscaped so that it is difficult to work out precisely where it stood.confused

We met at church; keeping up a family tradition on my husband's side of the family as his parents also met at church and both sets of his grandparents did too. smile

Synonymous Mon 18-Jan-16 22:10:27

We met 54 years ago this year shock outside the church which had organised a youth ramble. It has since been rebuilt and would be a lovely place to be married in and also has a whole suite of rooms which would be perfect for a reception, so two for the price of one!
Happy memories! smile

In a small carriage of a commuter train - he was one of the 'crowd' I used to travel up to London with each morning, all crammed into the kind of carriage you don't see these days, two six-person seats facing each other across a space just wide enough for the standing passengers to tread on our toes all the way to London smile

J52 Mon 18-Jan-16 21:57:21

In our sitting room at home!

Years later we had our reception at my family home. It was not the same house.

In a concert hall, where he was the accompanist for my singing, poor man! Actually it would make a lovely wedding venue.

Pittcity Mon 18-Jan-16 21:10:37

We had our wedding reception in the Youth Club where we first met!

Gagagran Mon 18-Jan-16 20:47:08

In the upstairs room of a pub in West Yorkshire, at the 21st birthday party of a work colleague, in 1963. We had our Golden Wedding last July.

janeainsworth Mon 18-Jan-16 20:44:18
