Standing on a corner by the Horsebridge Centre in Whitstable. We met online so this was a shy first meet up. For me it became love at fourth site and we married five and a half years later.

In the upstairs room of a pub in West Yorkshire, at the 21st birthday party of a work colleague, in 1963. We had our Golden Wedding last July.

He used to come and visit me in Manchester, when I was a student there, also 48 years ago!

The Adam and Eve pub at Mill Hill, the night that Roger Moore was in having a quiet pint (it was his local). Needless to say, i only had eyes for DH!

We had our wedding reception in the Youth Club where we first met!

In a concert hall, where he was the accompanist for my singing, poor man! Actually it would make a lovely wedding venue.

In the Welsey Memorial Hall (at a university Scottish Dance Society ceilidh) on New Inn Hall Street, Oxford.

Years later we had our reception at my family home. It was not the same house.

In a small carriage of a commuter train - he was one of the 'crowd' I used to travel up to London with each morning, all crammed into the kind of carriage you don't see these days, two six-person seats facing each other across a space just wide enough for the standing passengers to tread on our toes all the way to London

We met 54 years ago this year outside the church which had organised a youth ramble. It has since been rebuilt and would be a lovely place to be married in and also has a whole suite of rooms which would be perfect for a reception, so two for the price of one!

We met at church; keeping up a family tradition on my husband's side of the family as his parents also met at church and both sets of his grandparents did too.

In a run down old coast guard hut that was the university sailing club, long since demolished and the whole area completely landscaped so that it is difficult to work out precisely where it stood.

On a canal boat trip with the social club at work. Been married 30 years in March.

Outside the Cinephone cinema on Bristol Street, Brum. Stylish cinema in 1957, showed classy foreign films and had a coffee bar on the first floor with a plate glass window. Long demolished, after a later incarnation showing a less salubrious type of film.

We did, sort of. Met in our first term at St Andrews (admittedly at a party) and returned 4 years later after graduation to marry in the University Chapel.

In the Haematology Lab at the Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford, where we worked. We were reprimanded for walking down the hospital corridor hand-in-hand, then sent to work at different local hospital Path labs.

Divorced just prior to retirement after both spending our entire working lives as biomedical scientists in the NHS.
