I never know what to put under which heading so I plumped for Other Subjects.
On Christmas evening, in the middle of Downton our lights went out. Everything went out. Just us. And nothing had tripped the switches. We had assumed our AA insurance would cover us - it didn't, and they didn't want to know. Neither did EON (no supplier does, he said). But he did give us Networks number. By this time my mobile phone was nearly out of battery. (It was all so much simpler when you just trotted down the road to the phone box and rang the Electricity Board.)
However, I have to say UK Power Networks were wonderful. Very efficient. Sooo - for those who hadn't considered what to do if the lights go out (like us)..... The number that ring is 0800 783 8838. Keep it handy!!
