Merry Christmas Daisychain
I'm glad it got sorted - fancy that, these patterns are very expensive! It does look a very nice hat.

Now I'm feeling guilty as I should be finishing off two cardies for the DGDs.

Merry Christmas to you too Daisychain, hope the hat turns out well.

It's a patrons paper pattern. Since my last post I took your advice and got in touch with the people that sells the pattern
Alice could not be more helpful.

She read through the pattern and discovered there was a mistake in the pattern
So now it has been resolved
Gransnet is great
A very Happy Chrismas to you all

New Year present?

Is it a printed pattern or a downloaded one? Sometimes with downloads your PC can't find the right symbol or emoticon so it just uses an empty box.

Thank you so much all of you. Yes it was a Christmas present for my daughter, time is running out on me. However we will get some more
cold weather, so she can wear the hat.

You could try asking on Ravelry:
www.ravelry.com

You may have to join but it is free

Strange but ignore the grey boxes and move to next stitch is the usual thing.
I will ask my friend who is a very good knitter later today. Good luck.

Not sure, I don't do lacy patterns, I hope someone can help you. Perhaps if you email Patons or the firm/shop where you bought the pattern they can help you - we have a couple of wool shops in our town and the owners are always most knowledgeable and helpful.

Hope it's not for a Christmas present and you get it finished if it is!

Hello Gransnet
I am appealing to all you knitters out there, to see if you could solve a knitting pattern for me, that is driving me round the bend.
Its about a Patons pattern hat number Patons 3947
You read from a chart and when you get to a certain row little grey boxes appear Which indicates NO STICH It would normall mean sts that has been
priviousely been taken in but to that point there dose not appear to be any
sts being reduced Is there a mistake in the lacy pattern or is it just me.
I thank you all in anticipation.
Happy Christmas
smile
