Good service

Thinking about this, I am going to set up a direct debit account - I do not know why I have been so 'anti' - everything else is done by direct debit, but for some reason, I find it hard to do for card payments. It suddenly occurred to me that if I was not able to make the monthly payment myself, then it would automatically incur the late payment and interest, so it was a good move on my part to write this, and get some good advice from you all. Thank you.

I have had no problem with paying in full by DD with M&S for me and Barclaycard for H with POA for him. I get a request which says " as you pay by DD the full amount will be taken on ? Of Jan/Feb. then when the next request comes it says paid in full on ? Date. I have found it great as we were missing payments but no longer.

Direct debit here too. That was good service though PM.

Like Liz and Pittcity I have an arrangement so if there is anything on my credit card it automatically gets paid off when due.

I use cards more than cash though it's usually my Debit Card.

If I use my Credit Card it is faithfully paid off at the end of each month. The only time that I may pay interest would be January when I've used the Credit Card a bit more than usual in the December and I use two payments to clear it rather than use money from my savings account (which might not get put back).

I pay mine by Direct debit, have done ever since I missed a payment. Yes you get a statement as usual for checking and they take the full amount on the last possible date so giving you the full interest free period.

Do you still get the statement each month Liz? I would be a big wary of direct debit of I didn't see the payments itemised.

PRINTMISS, I pay my credit card bill in full every month by direct debit and have never had a problem. I don't have to think about it, except for making sure there is enough money in the current account.
