How much do you spend on Xmas presents?

Just seen this feature on the One Show where they asked couples in a shopping centre how much they would spend on each other. It varied from about £100 to £500!!! I was mind-boggled! Am I alone in this?

OH has bought me a jumper - I chose it! - £40; I have bought him a fleece-lined shirt - also about £40. We never spend the sort of sums above.

Are we just a stingy lot, or do others spend these large sums?

DH loves to buy extra presents for me though.
