Did you get a bit of a thrill, perhaps a slight "frisson" when you put it in the post box?

baubles Mon 23-Nov-15 19:47:02

What a horrible thing to do to anyone. Hope you're ok. flowers

phoenix Mon 23-Nov-15 18:44:15

Thanks jings, although I think the "why" is pretty obvious, as in wanting to jeopardise my job, although the other "why" as in why would anyone want to do something so nasty, is still a bit beyond me confused

Still, as they say "nowt so queer as folk"

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 23-Nov-15 18:30:11

Glad all is ok though. (Might have done some good. Got a cerain message across!)

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 23-Nov-15 18:28:20

Crikey! (north of the border) I dunno why. Just so far away. It's weird.
Why?!!! confused

Ana Mon 23-Nov-15 18:20:45

Oh I see. Sorry, I'm too damn nosy for my own good!

The postmark is only proof of where the missive was posted, though.

rosequartz Mon 23-Nov-15 18:20:12

Well, it is only fit for the litter tray, but it is quite scary all the same.
Big Brother (or Sister) and all that

phoenix Mon 23-Nov-15 18:15:49

When I say "letter", I mean that it was sent in the post.

There was an additional page with a typed comment.

grannylyn65 Mon 23-Nov-15 18:04:22

And isnae Perth Granny either

Ana Mon 23-Nov-15 18:00:46

Was there a letter as well, then? I thought it was just a copy of a thread.

Elegran Mon 23-Nov-15 17:58:02

Wisnae me neither, phoenix. I can't imagine any of the Scottish grans that I have met would have done such a thing, or any whose posts I have read. It must have been someone completely outside Gransnet, one of those trolls who occasionally appear and stir up trouble.

Lining the litter tray is the best place for it. Put it out of your mind. wineflowers

rosequartz Mon 23-Nov-15 17:50:58

grin best place for it under the shit litter

phoenix Mon 23-Nov-15 17:45:40

The "incident" happened more than a week ago, and all is fine, thanks.

In case anyone is wondering, the letter was given to me, and after much deliberation, I decided to keep the envelope.

The contents are currently helping to line the cat's litter tray grin

Jane10 Mon 23-Nov-15 17:44:29

A Scottish gran? Well it wisnae me. I'd be black affrontit to dae sicca thing!
Just hope all OK at your work.

rosequartz Mon 23-Nov-15 17:37:42

Hope everything went all right at work flowers

phoenix Mon 23-Nov-15 17:35:21

Just got home, thank you all so much for your support, it is appreciated.

Charleygirl , re the postmark, yes, the city was identified, let's just say it was North of the border.

loopylou Mon 23-Nov-15 16:52:22

I think (with many others) it's bl...y appalling.
It's shocked me.

KatyK Mon 23-Nov-15 16:43:46

That's a bit scary. shock

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 23-Nov-15 16:25:14

wink for p. Only joking.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 23-Nov-15 16:24:31

I expect phoenix is at work at the moment. Hopefully. shock

Ana Mon 23-Nov-15 16:22:41

Not sure whether it was anything to do with employment now, with other threads having been mentioned! confused

Charleygirl Mon 23-Nov-15 16:18:50

They did not have the guts to PM you to tell you what they thought, whatever that was. They had to carry out such a sly, underhand method which clearly did not have the desired effect as I believe that you are still employed. It must hurt like hell to think that someone out there feels like that about you when you have done no wrong as far as I know and the vast majority of GNs have enjoyed your humour and writing style. flowers

Ariadne Mon 23-Nov-15 13:31:53

Just catching up now - Phoenix - this is awful! I know you're brave and are sort of laughing it off, but it must hurt. Cannot believe anyone could be so unpleasant. xxx

Charleygirl Mon 23-Nov-15 11:41:46

I agree with MiniMouse do not let the **er get you down flowers

MiniMouse Mon 23-Nov-15 11:36:55

phoenix what a truly awful experience. It's been a wake-up call for me - and some others, I should think! I'm very careful about what I put on GN, but it would never have occurred to me that someone would think of doing what they've done to you.

You've risen above so much in the past, so flutter your wings once more flowers

annsixty Mon 23-Nov-15 10:57:01

You don't have to be a member of GN to read the posts as Bellanonna said. I would hope like everyone else that we are kind and caring and not a vindictive lot.
