Clean the Windows? Presumably inside only. Don't clean the outside or people will be able to see in.

Well the young scribbler who wrote the article probably has never actually done housework, don't the younger generation have cleaners ?

Who hasn't got an outdated magazine lying around? Or the latest House of Bath catalogue?

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 21-Nov-15 11:26:27

That's alright! It's so true! Making a room look nice doesn't have to involve heavy housework. We need reminding sometimes.

I must look it up immediately!

Could this be another good reason not to bother with Saga magazine? I wonder what is going on in their heads when they write this stuff.

Well! I do all that regularly- I even moved all the furniture and vacuumed in every corner the other day! And I hadn't even seen that sage Saga advice.
Must remember to tell DGD2 not to leave fingermarks and snail trails on my sparkling patio doors

Ps they forgot going around with a longhandled brush to de-cobweb grin

Dusting, hoovering and throwing out old newspapers and magazines! Wish I'd thought of that!!

Is this not the daftest bit of journalism to come my way? The quote below is from the current on line SAGA newsletter, on how to "Refresh your tired home". I think that by the time we get to read this magazine, that we all probably know instinctively how to " Refresh" a room. hmm

"This may not be the most glamorous or interesting start to your mini-makeover but throwing out dated newspapers and magazines, running a duster over surfaces and skirtings, a Hoover over floors and cleaning windows so they sparkle will instantly refresh a space."
