Are you a direct or indirect querist? I am direct; DH indirect. There was an example this morning.

Him: "Are you going anywhere today?"

Me: "Yes, to G, and I might go along to H later for some sealant for that slight leak under the kitcehn sink."

Him: "I wouldn't go to H today if I were you."

Me: "Oh, why?"

Him: "Because the flood by F is already quite deep so you might get stuck."

Then it dawned on me... he wanted to take the old 4x4 so that he could get through the flooded bits of road. Which left me wondering why he didn't just say: "Can I take the truck today? The roads will be pretty bad." To which I could have answered: "Yes. Sure."

This kind of wandering around the crux of the issue is quite common. I quite often have to work out what he's on about by piecing things together. It can be quite amusing but sometimes, if I'm tired for instance, I just wish he'd get to the point in a more direct way.
