I can give you one. I have a friend whose wife sent him to Thailand to buy furniture for her shop, and he came back with a Thai bride-to be!
My friends who seemed so well-suited, so happy, I thought they would be together for ever with their beautiful family of three white-haired children. The children grew up and were at college, she felt a bit redundant, he had a plumbing business, she wanted to open a furniture and interior design shop. They started one up but soon realised that she would need a cheap source of furniture, at least to begin with, to be able to make enough to cover her rent. They couldn't both afford to leave the shop and go on a trip as the shop was eating up so much money, so off he went on his own. He loved it there.
He is very happy, lives in northern Thailand, is 60 and has a five year old daughter, and teaches English for engineers at a college.
I think the moral of the story is, if you send your OH off to Sainsbury's, he may well come back engaged to a checkout girl. Or something like that.
