Dh first retired from a very stressful job, aged 59, having first established a small side line which he continued doing 1 or 2 days a week whilst following other interests. This sideline has grown like topsy and he is now back to working full time at the age of 70. Obviously, it is his choice and at the moment I am being a sounding board for him as he tries to decide Cutting down isn't an option for various reasons - it is all or nothing.
I shall enjoy having his (less stressed) company but I feel as though we will cross the Rubicon if he retires. We are both told that we seem (and look) younger than our years and have put that down to keeping busy and involved. I have a very real horror of old age, illness and infirmity striking overnight when he stops working.
I also have a very selfish worry that he will struggle to find things to occupy him and that might curtail my activities.
Help!
