Have you put away your Summer clothes yet?

I put away most of my Summer clothes this afternoon. I store them in one of those big zip-up bags under the spare bed. I reckon it's only about three months since I put away the Winter clothes and got out the Summer ones. So depressing to think I'll be stuck in jeans and jumpers for at least six months, probably longer.

Yes last week have kept some lighter stuff out though more in hope than certainty I think.

whitewave Mon 21-Sept-15 22:09:17

Had the heating on all evening too

Ana Mon 21-Sept-15 22:10:37

I haven't worn half of my Summer clothes this year...thermal vest time soon!

tanith Mon 21-Sept-15 22:11:06

No not yet I'm still living in hope of an Indian Summer grin

Leticia Mon 21-Sept-15 22:11:38

I put the really summery stuff away at the weekend.

Not the clothing yet, but I've gotten out the winter jackets and the gloves, hats, and scarves, so they can be washed and/or freshened up before they're worn. I'll probably switch out the clothing in the beginning of October.

No heater yet. Still quite warm in our house, about 19 or 20 at night.

I'm determined to buy a new hooded anorak-type jacket this year - and it must not be black! When I rehung the winter stuff everything seemed to be black or denim. Anyone know where I can buy some nice long sleeved t-shirts?

janerowena Mon 21-Sept-15 22:42:48

Ebay. I know there are lots of places you can buy t-shirts, but I like the long ones, made of viscose in lots of colours.

.I found these to show you

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Plus-Size-Womens-Long-Sleeve-Round-Neck-Plain-Basic-Ladies-Stretch-T-Shirt-Top-/261608131133?var=&hash=item3ce90f4a3d

I have bought theses from a different seller in the past (they do come in all sizes, just not from this seller) and have had them for years. I wear tunics all year round, but in the winter I wear them over t-shirts like this, with a boyfriend cardigan on top. So my tunics never have to be put away. I do shove all the linen further along the rail though.

If it's really nice ones you want, I like Phase Eight's.

I don`t have summer and winter wardrobes. I wear the same all year round, but with jumpers and cardigans in winter, instead of t-shirts and tunic tops.

janerowena Mon 21-Sept-15 22:49:07

Snap! grin

janerowena Mon 21-Sept-15 22:50:03

Well - almost. I do wear jumpers, as well as my t-shirts under my tunics.

WilmaKnickersfit Mon 21-Sept-15 23:18:08

I don't have winter and summer wardrobes any more either. Every year I buy new t-shirts in the spring (short sleeve) and autumn (3/4 sleeve) and I wear them with whatever else I need for the day. I still have too many clothes, but I am working on this!

Nelliemoser Mon 21-Sept-15 23:50:29

I stuck my summer stuff in the loft this afternoon after taking it out of my drawers and wardrobe and chucking it all on the bed in my daughters old room for a week.

Not yet, off to the sun, in a weeks time. After that it will be sadly stored away!

I very definitely have summer and winter clothes. I really feel the cold and my winter clothes are heavy on big sweaters and thermal vests. I much prefer lots of cuddly warm clothes to turning up the heating.

I gave up on summer in the middle of last week and started wearing warmer clothes and my spirits rose as I did it. I am a autumn and winter person, especially, autumn and as the trees begin to yellow to match the autumn sun. I started rescuing my cheerful autumnal warm coloured clothes and I cannot wait for the first day cold enough to justify lighting our dtove.

Still wearing summer clothes. A Tshirt and cotton skirt or trousers but I have added a thin three quarter sleeve cardigan on top and am still in my sandals which I'll wear as long as possible as I hat my feet getting too hot. I'm a bit traumatised when I have to go into tights and socks! I usually try to stretch it out until early Oct and don't put the heating on usually until then either.

Hate not hat sorry

We put our heating on last night for the first time. I'm having a big summer clothes sort out this afternoon and choosing what I want to take to Turkey next week. We hope to have a holiday in the sun next February as well possibly to Mexico. I prefer to go on holiday when the weather is poor in this country. I'll pack away anything I won't need for a holiday.

Alea Tue 22-Sept-15 07:20:40

Put it this way, if I hadn't yesterday, I would certainly be looking out autumn/winter clothes today!! Torrential rain drumming on my roof sad

hildajenniJ Tue 22-Sept-15 08:34:18

I hardly had the chance to wear anything summery this year. I think I wore my pretty blouses about four times. I have never put away my winter jumpers, in fact, I'm wearing my favourite purple one now.

Teetime Tue 22-Sept-15 10:16:54

Yes I put mine away yesterday with great sadness - some new things not even worn this year. Now however I have lots of empty hangars to fill up! I don't like to be always in jeans and trousers so I do mix it up with skirts and dresses whenever I can i.e. when its not a golf day. HATE THE WINTER!!! sad

bubbly1960 Tue 22-Sept-15 10:30:01

Thankyou janerowena, just ordered lovely top from Phase Eight, like your taste!!!!!!

henetha Tue 22-Sept-15 10:38:09

Like Teetime, I've got some summer tops which haven't seen the light of day yet, so they will soon be packed away for next year.
I'm in the middle of the great twice-annual clothes turnout. It was pretty cold here last night, so time to hunt out winter pyjamas, bedsocks, etc.
