soop Fri 06-Nov-15 15:45:39

Yes, love to you both Alea flowers

number I'm so chuffed for you. You deserve a real treat. The anticipation is part and parcel of the experience. sunshine

Have been out all morning. I really need to do some artwork before the light fades. smile

stillhere Fri 06-Nov-15 15:59:50

number I have always wanted to do that cruise. Maybe, one day...

I have spent the morning demonstrating to a friend how to use my steam cleaner. I might just as well have told her to clear off out and clean her place myself, it would have been far less work! grin I have left her with it though, happily cleaning everything I have already cleaned. I am doing what I am best at - procrastinating. I have the last apples to wrap and store in an outside fridge. I am sick of the sight of them. Friends suggest I compost them, but I think I am just too tight frugal.

I went to a big area NAFA* (*No, me neither until recently, it's National Association of Flower Arrangers) demonstration yesterday, given by a slightly camp little man in a very gaudy waistcoat. He was very funny and told risqué jokes as he created his stunning arrangements. You could hear several hundred women collectively hold their breath as he got to punchlines, but he was very clever. It was like going to a comedy show with beautiful flowers as an added extra, very medicinal.

stillhere NAFA sounds like a very pleasant organisation. I would enjoy it. As for the apples, it's a great pity that you live so far away. I would love to bake a batch of apple crumbles. When I was a child and lived in a small village in Northants, an elderly lady would often leave a basket full of apples at her gate, and invite the schoolchildren to help themselves. I'm hoping that Cox's apples will soon appear on the shelves in the supermarket.

It is the time of day when I log off the computer. After a walk in the morning I shall pop in to catch up with our Kitcheners (((hugs))) for those who need them. moon

And you haven`t changed a bit!
Galen, we sail from London Tilbury, we`ll have to prevail on one of our brood to drive us down there.
Alea, glad all went well for your husband, bet he enjoyed his tea!

Crafting Fri 06-Nov-15 20:49:13

Alea wish your DH a speedy recovery. I know what you mean about having enough of hospitals.

Number you will love your cruise. It has always been one of our dreams too and we did it this year. We loved it. The weather was not great but we had such a fantastic time.

soop Sat 07-Nov-15 12:02:03

Wishing Alea's husband a happy after-procedure recovery. sunshine

number I'm excited for you. Take lots of photos. Us lot will want to be nosy. wink

MacSporran has an appointment with the haematologist in Oban early next week. Following day I shall be keeping an appointment for recurring "drop-bot" (proctocele) in Glasgow. Good bit is...we may be meeting up with bags in between appointments.

Rory wishes his fans to know that the staff are treating him well. grin

Charleygirl Sat 07-Nov-15 12:44:52

The only times Rory is awake is when he is stuffing his face or moving to a comfier sleeping place. I would imagine that the staff have little choice.

soop Sat 07-Nov-15 14:15:05

Correct! Charleygirl grin

soop Sat 07-Nov-15 16:00:38

Okey dokey...Time for me to log off. I've had a lovely day. I wish all our Granspal Kitcheners a peaceful and relaxing evening. Until tomorrow...smile moon

soop Sun 08-Nov-15 11:41:32

number you may like a preview of a certain young Shepherd dog portrait. Here it be. grin

soop Sun 08-Nov-15 11:45:35

We've been to the short Remembrance Day gathering outside the village church gates. The rain was relentless. The wind was wild. However, nothing compared with the trials and tribulations of soldiers in all wars. Bobby, our neighbour with dementia, went along with us. He wore his best kilt. He barely spoke a word. A lovely man.

Charleygirl Sun 08-Nov-15 11:45:44

I do like your latest creation soop.

Found some cream going sour in the fridge so I made some scones. I use naturally soured cream as a raising agent in scones and soda bread. Works a treat. I've just scoffed two so dig in while you can. There's a dish of butter and some jam kicking around in the Soop kitchen, I'm sure.

thatbags Sun 08-Nov-15 13:10:51

Clearly it's even good at making them not fall off a cooling rack when it's unpside-down too.

soop Sun 08-Nov-15 13:24:47

bags grin you do spoil us lot somethin' rotten. I shall help myself to two. One for me and one for MacS. Clotted cream (virtual) and blackberry and apple conserve (for real.) Hope to see you very soon.

Thank you, Charleygirl I too am happy with the painting. Another successful first attempt. Whoopee!

thatbags Sun 08-Nov-15 13:47:33

I'm looking forward to Tuesday lunchtime too, soop smile

Charleygirl Sun 08-Nov-15 13:58:23

Yummee- I found the butter and jam in the kitchen and had a couple for lunch.

I am meeting up with 2 GNs tomorrow for our monthly coffee meet up. I do enjoy it.

soop Sun 08-Nov-15 14:07:15
