You should talk to the young men Jane10, explain to them to ignore the massacres , the bombing by America and the UK , the poverty , just get a job and keep their heads down , oh and those from Iraq and Afghanistan , just explain because we blasted their country killing thousands it doesn't mean we are concerned about the aftermath

When you fight them, it is not necessary to live with them. That is not wise, or even necessary.
In fact it is easier if the good men are not there. And their families obviously.

Anniebach I get where you're coming from but where would you suggest we all go? How can we absorb all these thousand upon thousand people? Our whole culture would have to change. To pay- higher taxes/reduced benefits. Housing? NHS? -dreams for us all. Who would be the winners? ISIS - they would inadvertently have brought Europe to its knees.

I just read (in an article on world pollution levels) that the population of Syria has dropped by 50%. If a majority of those leaving are young males, as seems to be the case, who's protecting the elderly, the children, the women (who are unable to leave their homes without a male relative with them)?

This is where a concerted effort needs to be made by the EU (for if it cannot sort out something like this crisis as a coherent body then it is failing).

There seems to be no system to sort genuine refugees from economic migrants - and also to sift out those whose intent could be to do us harm.

Turkey is carrying a huge burden with the number of refugee camps open there now - help is urgently needed. Things we take for granted here are desperately needed:
