Congratulations to the parents! And well done for choosing the bathroom floor. My daughter had her second son ( delivered by partner) on the rug in the living room. She had planned a home birth but not quite like that! She would have sympathy with the family where floor needed revarnishing - she had searched everywhere to find said rug, but then had to throw it out!

After staying put for a week longer than he should, he decided he wanted out fast. DD2 went from the odd twinge to giving birth on the bathroom floor within 15 minutes. Her partner is now in shock having had to deliver his son

. And yes, I too know someone who gave birth on the bathroom floor - and someone who gave birth at work in the staff toilets. Sometimes those storylines on TV aren't as farfetched as we assume!
