After staying put for a week longer than he should, he decided he wanted out fast. DD2 went from the odd twinge to giving birth on the bathroom floor within 15 minutes. Her partner is now in shock having had to deliver his son grin

Same thing happened with my DD and her son - is it boys who just can't wait? Bathroom floor delivery by baby's Dad for them too. No ill effects for any participants, and the floor was OK too!

Welcome to the world little man and hope all concerned are now doing well! flowers

Congratulations vampire! We had a new Grandson month ago, also speedy, but she managed to get to hospital just in time. Granddaughter number three arriving around Christmas, so three girls and three boys.

Visited and had my first cuddles today. DD is tired but well and DGS is lovely. I think he's going to be like her other two in that he slept from 11pm to 6am and would have slept longer but she thought he shouldn't go more that 7 hours without a feed on his first day of life grin. She's never done a 2am feed or walked the floor in the middle of the night with a screaming baby. Fingers crossed she's lucky again.

Now waiting for my other DD to have her baby. Should be any day now. Hopefully she'll get to hospital but if not we now have an expert baby deliverer in the family grin

My youngest grandchild was also born on the bathroom floor, in hospital! She was "born in a cawl" with the membranes intact so should be safe from drowning according to the old wive's tale.
How amazing to have babies who don't need feeding off and on all night every night, like vampire's grandchildren. None of mine slept through until after a year old.

Oh my
Congratulations vampirequeen.

The only person I know who had it happen, her mother happened to be there and is a long time midwife. And even she was shocked!

Tegan Fri 14-Aug-15 21:31:48

Crikey; that's what happened in that Life in Squares programme and I thought 'that's daft, it couldn't happen like that'. Wow!

Anya Fri 14-Aug-15 21:34:13

Welcome to your new arrival flowers

They take after her. DD1 was a nightmare and didn't sleep at all (well it felt like it) and her son is the same. DD2 slept the night from the day she was born and all three of hers have. Maybe it's partly genetic.

Welcome to the world, little boy, and congratulations all round - especially to his father. This story will become a family legend I'm sure, and a wonderful bond between father and son!
