I suppose this is only a rural problem and the city-based government wouldn't know or care how we country bumpkins get around but our bus services have been decimated recently.
If you live in a village and don't own a mansion and four vehicles you are basically marooned. I live in a busy market town but even here the buses are now so infrequent that it's impossible to travel to another town and back the same day. One bus an hour to the hospital in the nearest big town, buses two-hourly to college there for over-sixteens and costs £5.50 daily.
Today it took me 2 hours 40 minutes to go 11 miles and back for a hospital appointment. This is SO UNFAIR when city dwellers have such frequent and cheap transport.
