When I was paying for my daughter's rented room while she was at uni I used to deduct the deposit from the final month's rent. It's probably not legal but it worked every time.

Phone call to say it was returned by my bank because someone can't type an account number accurately. So why wasn't I told ?
Should be in my account by the end of the day.

I am afraid that agencies often do drag their feet over this - keep nagging!

I paid the deposit on the rented house DD moved out of on 9th June. Despite giving the agents my bank details I'm still waiting for my
sure ain't. 9 wks.! They told DD they could see no reason not to have a full refund.
I have just spoken to the agents and was told they'd look into it and call back.
I'm sure the ex trousered the money I should have had back from the two lets when he was around. (he kept saying 'there was a problem') This time I expected to get my money angry
