It was brilliant!! - there were moments that were quite close to the wire, but the audience would not have known!
I got through it with no "mishaps"! It was a wonderfully uplifting event with something for everyone, and so many people came up afterwards to say what a lovely evening they had had. It was colourful (we all wear the brightest tops we can find), emotional, uplifting, funny - lots of changes of mood during the concert. And I think we had 1,000 there.
Our S African baritone soloist led a medley of African songs which were great fun.
I am so lucky to be asked to do this - it has been 2 years of very hard work indeed - choosing the music, the soloist, the composer, singing the parts to CD for the choirs to learn from, teaching the music, organising massed rehearsal ........... and more.
There are lots of things that I have been saying I will do once this is over, and now I have to get stuck into them - organising the local villages autumn arts festival is top of the list.
But first I will have a rest!
Thanks for all your support - it would have been lovely to have you all there.
