I thought it was quite an ok name, but then wondered if it had some strange connotations that I was unaware of?

Today I read a poster stating that a fete was being held in the grounds of Miss 'Garminda *****'. A beautiful big stately home - she must have had parents with a very poor taste in names!

Had to Google the pronunciation it sounds better than it looks.

I've known a Perdita and a Buttercup along with a sprinkling of 70's Saffrons.

I haven't seen the television series but have read and enjoyed the books. I have never met a Phryne but have encountered some people with unusual names, including an Aphrodite who, sadly, was one of the plainest girls I have ever seen.
