always wear black shoes and carry a black handbag? She has such lovely clothes in beautiful colours but when you look down there are these same black shoes spoiling the line. I realise she problems has many such pairs and its not the same ones all the time and that they are handmade by elves and kissed by the fairies but I would love to see her with some summer colours to co-ordinate her outfit- I don't mean matchy-matchy but something lighter. I expect its just me that's bothered isn't it?

I have it on good authority that the Queen chastises her dogs when they are unruly by occasionally whacking them gently with her handbag. (She was observed doing this many years ago at a garden party.) smile

Oh! She must be really close to those little dogs. I would think she is a very loving person. George seemed so pleased to see her when she arrived for the Christening.

I heard on the news that the Queen has decided not to have any more corgis because she doesn't want to leave any behind without her.

Funny that most of us with dogs are already thinking along those lines and we're twenty years younger (give or take)

Corgis are a vanishing breed. Their popularity may well die out with the Queen sad

Yes, I'm quite sure but thank you for your interest.sad

Are you sure? You didn't give that impression in your earlier posts. smile

Gemmag Tue 14-Jul-15 22:00:05

Thank you Ana but actually I do know how the Queen should be addressed.

I have to admit she's usually well turned out. Occasionally I think, 'Oh no dear, your dresser let you down today,' but usually she looks smart and comfortable. She's found a style that suits her and she sticks to it.

The Queen isn't HRH she is Her Majesty the Queen, Gemmag.

And I for one certainly don't look gorgeous all the time if ever ! grin

Gemmag Tue 14-Jul-15 18:26:11

Jinglbellsfrocks, where you an " English School Teacher " by any chance?. And yes, of course we all look gorgeous all of the time.sad

Elegran Tue 14-Jul-15 12:18:01

Noblesse oblige?

But that doesn't mean they are obliged to always look wonderful, no excuse accepted. What a life

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 14-Jul-15 12:08:32

Whereas we all look gorgeous all of the time.

Abysmal

Christingle Tue 14-Jul-15 12:06:16

Personally I think most of the older Royals, particulary Anne, look absoluly abismal in their choice of clothes. No excuse with the money and personal designers they have access to.

Gemmag Tue 14-Jul-15 11:52:53

HRH of course!. Her Majesty and she is indeed Head Honcho, and very Boss Lady like me. wink

tigger Tue 14-Jul-15 10:55:24

I think the Queen looks great in yellow with black shoes.

merlotgran Mon 13-Jul-15 19:55:23

Do you mean Her Royal Highness, Gemmag?

If so you are incorrect as the Queen is Her Majesty. Head Honcho.....Boss Lady.

Gemmag Mon 13-Jul-15 19:44:21

You are just being plain silly.

merlotgran Mon 13-Jul-15 17:38:00

Her RH????

Off to the Tower with you!!

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 13-Jul-15 17:16:15

What has her age got to do with it? confused

Are you being ageist? shock

Gemmag Mon 13-Jul-15 16:59:17

Have you all forgotten how old her RH is!!.
She is an amazing woman and who cares what colour shoes she wears.

Alea Mon 13-Jul-15 11:07:13

Oo - er I don't know what happened there blush but you get my sideways drift.

Alea Mon 13-Jul-15 10:35:28

If I really like a pair of shoes I have also been known to buy another pair in another colour, e.g black, brown, blue. also been known for me to look down It has also been known for me to look down at my feet at work or on the way and see that, yes, one black and one brown !

etheltbags1 Mon 13-Jul-15 10:27:42

The Queen is noted for being parsimonious (hope I got the spelling right), she never spends if she can avoid it because she hates waste. I would imagine that black shoes would be ok with any outfit and it would not be noticeable if she wore the same pair twice. If she wore them in a colour to match her outfit it might be noticed and remarked upon.

I don't blame her if she always has the same style if they are comfortable
I wish the shoe shops would sell the same style year after year as I need comfortable shoes for my job, I just get a pair that suit and go back for another pair and find they are not is stock anymore. Not being in a position to have handmade shoes I just have to try another pair and get used to them.

Sorry!

I did think that the stiff upper lip competition in Margate may give the game away.
