I just wanted to say, having received a lovely private message from a Gransnetter, that people on here are pretty wonderful. How lovely of someone to pick up from a post that the poster would benefit from a few kind words. It worked. Sometimes a gesture from a stranger can work wonders (not that I think of you of strangers really, but you know what I mean). I will endeavour to do the same in the future. smile

Let us hope Galen that a way forward will be found for her.

I too have benefited from much support and kindness for gnetters at a very difficult time in my life - and I am very grateful.

LL, I must read posts more thoroughly. I thought that " Can't they be reported to GN?" refereed to the previous post regarding iPads. hmm

Not a bad idea sometimes pompa! Mine definitely sometimes has either a fit of the sulks or runs away with spellchecking itself (not helped by me rarely reading a post I've written before hitting send!)
hmm

Thanks all. I think she's relieved something's happening

Galen, I`m pleased that your dear Lucy is going to get the attention, guidance and treatment that she is in need of. I hope all goes well for her, and you, in the future.

Nelliemoser Tue 02-Jun-15 18:19:56

Galen I hope they can get her back onto an even keel soon .

I often wonder how well these pyschiatrists actually monitor the effects of the drugs they dispense.

janeainsworth Tue 02-Jun-15 18:43:03

Galen I hope it all works out for Lucy x

janerowena Tue 02-Jun-15 19:05:20

Me too, I'm so glad she is getting some help - and it will give your head a bit of a break.

kittylester Tue 02-Jun-15 19:12:41

That must be a relief for you Galen, I hope something can be done to help her.

I've had loads of help on here too with both my issues with my mum and the f*****g Idiot!

ffinnochio Tue 02-Jun-15 19:52:59

galen Wishing Lucy well.

KatyK thanks for your positive comments about the pm you received.
I was shocked to read that Gagagran and others have received nasty pm's, totally unnecessary and very unkind

Galen, I do hope Lucy is safe and getting the care she needs and that future care is helpful for her

Well said Hespian! I wish more people would follow this maxim! How lovely of you KatyK to thank those who have been kind. When someone is hurting a few supportive words can do so much. This place is surely here for support not meanness!

bikergran Tue 02-Jun-15 22:01:12

Here here! to all the lovely people who prvt msg as well as post on the forums, a little msg goes a long way to make you think "oh someone is thinking about me" smile
Galen I hope your problems are will be eased.

grannyactivist Tue 02-Jun-15 22:10:54

Well said KatyK - I have had enormous support from Gransnetters.
Galen - I'm sorry I seem to have missed the thread about Lucy, but whatever the problem I do hope it's soon resolved. flowers

Katek Tue 02-Jun-15 22:15:19

Galen-I too seemed to have missed the thread concerning Lucy. I do hope that she will feel better very soon.

Ana Tue 02-Jun-15 22:46:00

I think Galen has posted about Lucy mainly on the Soop's Kindly Kitcheners thread. I too hope that she'll get the help she needs to get her spark back.

As for unpleasant PMs, I've only ever had two and they've been from - how shall I put it - temporary and obvious troublemakers.

I give my opinion on here and of course there are always some who disagree with me - why not? I have never, however, sent or received a 'nasty' PM and agree that it's not on to resort to such underhand measures.

BTW, there's always Grannynet if you want a bland non-confrontational grandparenting site.

harrigran Tue 02-Jun-15 23:07:51

flowers for you Galen, and hope that things will improve now that treatment has started.
