Lovely Gransnetters

I just wanted to say, having received a lovely private message from a Gransnetter, that people on here are pretty wonderful. How lovely of someone to pick up from a post that the poster would benefit from a few kind words. It worked. Sometimes a gesture from a stranger can work wonders (not that I think of you of strangers really, but you know what I mean). I will endeavour to do the same in the future. smile

There are always kind words here for those that need them. Gners can be very supportive.

I agree I had two messages yesterday and they were very much appreciated and gave me a boost.

Me too, I have been very surprised and touched at times.

What a nice gesture flowers

About a month ago I had two very unpleasant and aggressive pms which upset me a lot and has made me very wary of posting much. I did block the sender. Not everyone on GN is kind. sad

Teetime Tue 02-Jun-15 14:07:58

Oh that's nasty! I'm glad you blocked them- would you feel like pm- ing the names to me I'll block them too- there are some postings on here that leave you wondering about some people!!

Anya Tue 02-Jun-15 14:42:09

But all lovely people on this thread smile

I had some lovely PMs recently and it does make you feel better, doesn't it?

hespian Tue 02-Jun-15 14:48:08

As the saying goes " if you can't say something nice then just say nothing at all" !

KatyK Tue 02-Jun-15 15:04:18

Sorry to hear that Gagagran. I can't imagine what gets into people sometimes.

Nelliemoser Tue 02-Jun-15 15:30:38

Gagagran If they are abusive you should have reported them.

rosesarered Tue 02-Jun-15 15:37:12

That's a rotten thing to happen Gagagran, but at least there is the blocking thing on here. It's very underhand to send nasty messages by pm.

Charleygirl Tue 02-Jun-15 15:37:18

I think that it is totally unecessary to send abusive and aggressive pms. Why not say what they want to say "in public" or are they too afraid? It is so much easier to upset one GN on her own at home privately. They are cowards- one reason why I stay with soop's kitchen and other posts where I am not likely to be screamed at because my views are different. This came out loud and clear at the run up to the elections. I stayed well clear.

rosesarered Tue 02-Jun-15 15:38:27

Flipping iPad, I meant it is very underhand, but it seems to print anything it likes, a mind of it's own.

loopylou Tue 02-Jun-15 15:40:35

Can't they be reported to GN?
If someone abused me in a pm I wouldn't hesitate just in case someone else got one too.

It does make me wonder what some people are like in 'real' life sad

cangran Tue 02-Jun-15 15:43:51

Here, here, KatyK - most Gransnetters are very kind indeed. I really appreciated the kind, thoughtful comments I had yesterday when, on impulse and feeling down in the dumps, I posted on my 47th anniversary. flowers

I just feel that the point of this site is so that we can support each other. Most of us are struggling with something. Obviously there is room for heated debate, but no need to be horrible.

Ariadne Tue 02-Jun-15 16:13:18

The support I have had has been tremendous. There are, indeed, some lovely GNetters. Thank goodness!!

Galen Tue 02-Jun-15 16:31:16

Quite.
By the way, Lucy has now been admitted to a mental hospital. I'm quite relieved. Hope they can help her.

Crow Tue 02-Jun-15 16:33:50

I too have had great support when needed. I don't post nearly so much nowadays. I just lurk!!

loopylou Tue 02-Jun-15 16:40:17

I do hope Lucy gets the support and therapy she needs Galen, poor girl, such a turmoil for you both.

MiniMouse Tue 02-Jun-15 16:57:17

flowers galen what a difficult time you are having sad

whenim64 Tue 02-Jun-15 16:59:06

Galen I hope Lucy is feeling supported and less distressed now she is in hospital flowers

Charleygirl Tue 02-Jun-15 17:23:33

Galen hopefully they will be able to help Lucy with the support and care that she needs. At least you know that she will safe there.
