I had a restless night too - I wanted to be up early to get to the Drs by 8.30 when I might get in first. Tues am you just turn up and he sees you.
Got there at 8.35 and there were already 3 others there! Just got back.

Our (extremely old) clock radio has two alarms and I inadvertantly pressed the one that we dont use (iyswim) and the alarm went off at midnight! I've hardly slept since and feel like a piece of chewed string!

Had restorative shower and feeling slightly more human although eyes look like burnt holes in a blanket! Bit of concealer shouid sort that-suppose I could always go for the smoky eyed look.(!) I normally have world service on timer but think it was on most of the night. I'm going to have quick tidy round then try for a power nap. Where have the days gone when we could stay up all night at a party/writing essays and still function in the morning?!

It's getting up to wee that is my downfall! But I am on an anti-depressant at the moment and my big problem now is waking up in the morning - I feel as though I have been dredged up from the bottom of a river.

We have Radio 4/ the World Service on all night. Years ago, I used to have the same problem as Katek and so did DH but if I do wake up now I just listen to what's on until I fall asleep again. This plan falls apart if what's on is really gripping but even if I'm awake, listening to a programme seems less draining than just lying in the dark and doesn't leave me as tired next day as getting up, making a cup of tea, doing the ironing, reading and other things I used to try. With Kindle of course, you can read without putting the light on and waking the DH which is what I do if away from the radio.

I rarely get more than 4 hours sleep. I think you will find that once you get going you will be fine. I hope you enjoy your lunch and will catch up tonight. flowers

You'll be fine by lunchtime. Drink coffee, walk about, and stop moaning. hmm

I do sympathise. These days I don't often lie awake struggling to sleep, like I used to when I was working, but for years I've wrestled with broken sleep. I wake several times each night - it can be anything up to 6 times - and always need to pee, so it's out of bed, stumble to loo in the dark (daren't put the light on for fear it'll wake me up too much!), then back to bed. And generally I get back to sleep fairly quickly. But all this interrupted sleep takes its toll and I flag quite badly some days sad

Are rooms too hot or too cold, or have too much light?

Marmight Tue 19-May-15 09:14:57

Me too! I had about 4 hours sleep and then dropped off again at about 8. Just woke up when phone buzzed at 9. it's not going to be a good day. Commiserations to you all {yawn}

NanaDenise Tue 19-May-15 09:14:48

Anyone got any suggestions for the 'keep waking up' during the night. I wake up 4 or 5 times for about 15 minutes. Usually I go back to sleep again, but sometimes not. No problem dropping off when I go to bed, I just don't feel rested in the morning.

Teetime Tue 19-May-15 09:07:08

I know the feeling I'm like this several times a week but today I had five hours yippee!!

Marelli Tue 19-May-15 09:06:23

Same here, Katek. Woke at 2am, then eventually must've fallen asleep about half-five. Going to Edinburgh with DH for birthday lunch. I can foresee grogginess around midday! hmm

Ariadne Tue 19-May-15 08:56:19

Could you have a mid morning power nap? But put your phone on alarm to wake you up!

It's a horrible feeling, isn't it? flowers

Had about 3-4 hours sleep last night, heaven only knows why! Could not switch off and lie still, I'm now like a shuffling zombie with wild hair.
I'm on third mug of tea and head is still like mince. I'm meeting friends for lunch-at this rate I'll be face down in my plate.
