Oh soop that is such sad news about your friend. My sincerest condolences go out to you

Everything went according to plan today. My beloved DH was laid to rest after a lovely service in the packed church. He would have been overwhelmed by how many people loved and respected him.

I was so proud of our four children who had organized everything, and my son who, together with his friends, carried his father's coffin to his resting place.

It was the saddest day of my life but so many kind people rallied round to help us through.

Thank you all for your lovely messages of support which are appreciated more than you know.

I'm so glad everything went to plan today, Bella. I hope you got a chance to see everyone you wanted to, and yes, it's wonderful when people make an effort to turn up.

I too have been at a funeral today, in Kent, of a very dear friend. I was amazed by how many people were there, but then he was such a lovely man. His funeral was lovely, he had planned it himself, but I'm afraid I lost it when Time to say Goodbye by Katherine Jenkins was played. As even some of the men were crying I made a mental note not to choose it for my own funeral! We've only just got back, and I am so tired after all the travelling but am buzzing too much to go to bed.

Bella I am so pleased that all went to plan yesterday and that the church was packed. Good that your chidren organised everything- we do know that house cleaning is not their forte!

Is your GD still with you and entertaining you? I do hope so.

Bella and thank you to you for telling us lot how the day of your dear husband's funeral went. I'm thankful that the family rallied and did him proud. It was as you both deserve. xxx

We've been to visit our late friend's husband. He said...'She was such a sweet person and now she is no more...' All that I could do was hug him tightly. On Friday there will be a short service of remembrance in the village kirk. After which, there will be tea and cakes and a gathering of friends in the village hall.

I was busy doing my pal's ironing this morning. As I did so, a call came from another of our mutual village friends...one of "the gang of ten"...it has been confirmed that he also has cancer. MRI scan to establish the extent. It has, in brief, been a bummer of a week.

I understand that Andy's match has started. I'm away to support him.

DD had a consultation with a bride last night and had to make 6 sample cakes for the tasting so I've stolen the bits she didn't take! Help yourselves! Choose from pink champagne and raspberry, sticky toffee with salted caramel, victoria sandwich with strawberries, chocolate with hazelnut cream and lemon with lemon curd cream.

Shall I put the kettle on?

I am wrestling with filling in my form for the DVLA. I know that you will be amazed to discover that I cannot remember the date of a hospital appointment in ?1978 or the name of the doctor I saw. I realise that Altzeimers must have hit me.

Oh good heavens! I suppose it will be in your GP records though. What a pain.

I must phone my friend, she is probably feeling very flat now that the funeral is over.

janer the throw arrived today. The one that I ordered because I had botched-up the off-white sofa by spilling red wine (left in the bottle) all over the place. I shall take a picture later. See if you approve.

soop from what I have seen to date re home and wedding attire, you have immaculate taste. Did I forget to mention Rory? I did not mean to because he also was well chosen although I suspect that he chose you and MacSporran.

dustyangel I think that Rory was in the middle of a 10 hour shut eye when he was rudely moved from one of his beds to have the throw fitted. He will learn to like it.
