Here we are again...I hope that the kitcheners can find their way without too much hassle.

annodomini Fri 05-Jun-15 19:45:20

The weather has interfered with the tennis. What a match! I'd bet you've been out of your chair a few times in the last two sets, soop!

janerowena Fri 05-Jun-15 20:08:23

pompa what an Adonis! grin I love the discreet camouflage pattern, paired with the simplicity of the white headwear. You are so stylish, a real trendsetter!

How lovely that bellasnanna can go on the cruise with Galen. I have a funeral to attend in just over a week - and after that, all my poor friend will have by way of a break will be a week here with me! I could always take her for a day trip on the Broads.... grin Actually, that would be rather nice.

Galen Fri 05-Jun-15 21:10:09

Both of us will show the very politest British restrained behaviour!
We have a whole year to practice our Hinge and Bracket act.
We don't go until June next year!

janerowena Fri 05-Jun-15 21:30:45

I did love those two! Yes, I think you should. You will need a couple of tiaras then. And embroidered hankies and smelling salt bottles stuffed in your bras.

Mishap Fri 05-Jun-15 21:39:13

Have a lovely cruise you two!

My DD gave my OH a mankini - I leave you to imagine what it looked like as he weighs under 8 stone.

Falconbird Sat 06-Jun-15 07:46:17

Thanks I'll have a cup of tea please. My Falcon's wings have been clipped lately and I'll just sit quietly here for a bit. smile

kittylester Sat 06-Jun-15 07:53:21

Can we help, Falcon? Have a cuppa andI'll do some hot buttered toast for you! brew

In fact, I'll join you as I have to visit mum this afternoon! grin

kittylester Sat 06-Jun-15 08:22:26

I've just had to come back and say how chuffed I am! DS1 posted a lovely photo of a local land mark called Old John which is at the top of a fairly rugged climb! The fabulous but was the photo showed his sitting next to Old John! He had a life changing stroke 9 years ago and has worked really hard on his recovery and fitness to be able to achieve this! sunshine

Lona Sat 06-Jun-15 08:38:50

That's great kitty to see him achieve such a level of fitness. You must be a very happy mum sunshine

Marelli Sat 06-Jun-15 09:24:45

kitty, that will be a photo to treasure, in many more ways than one. flowers

soop Sat 06-Jun-15 11:58:09

Good morning to you lovely lot^ and a warm welcome to Falconbird...please stay a while and enjoy the companionship in our kitchen. Kitty is right, we are here for each other...through good, bad and indifferent times. flowers

anno I was screaming for Andy towards the end of yesterday's match. I'm now being drawn like a magnate to the closing play. OMG! He has a chance, after all. I shall return this afternoon. Yay! Come on ANDY...

I also loved Hinge and Bracket. I also loved Flanders and Swan (Swann?)

soop Sat 06-Jun-15 11:59:26

kitty Well done to your son. Such spirit deserves a rich reward. sunshine

soop Sat 06-Jun-15 13:29:16

Sob! Andy, you played a mean game. I so wanted it to be your match. I shall now do some ironing to calm myself down.

annodomini Sat 06-Jun-15 13:37:05

My nerves are stretched to breaking point, soop! I have done a bit of ironing and will have some more to do once the sun and the breeze have done their best to my laundry on the line.

Galen Sat 06-Jun-15 13:51:49

Can't do F&S! Got the wheelchair, but the beard would be a problem

Galen Sat 06-Jun-15 13:53:35

But on the other hand. ( getting out magnifying make up mirror and tweezers,) perhaps not!

Judthepud2 Sat 06-Jun-15 14:55:31

Hello (peeking into a the kitchen) what is this place all about? Is anyone allowed to join in? Or is it for certain GNetters only? Are there any rules, like do you have to bring cake? smile cupcake

pompa Sat 06-Jun-15 14:59:37

Did those of you who looked at the crocheted mankini notice that he and I have something in common ? We are both "old school" and would not be seen in public without a hat.!

pompa Sat 06-Jun-15 15:02:40

We have moved camp to North Wales now, heading to Bodant garden tomorrow.

Falconbird Sat 06-Jun-15 15:05:33

Hi Judthepud2

I'm new here too. It seems very warm and friendly. I didn't bring any cupcake but I have been offered toast and a brew Might bring cupcake later. smile

annodomini Sat 06-Jun-15 15:21:15

Welcome Judthepud and Falconbird. Everyone welcome especially if they have cakes, scones, biscuits or buns - all zero calorie of course. But it's not obligatory! The kettle is usually on the boil so help yourself to a brew. You will be all the more welcome if you stroke Rory the formerly feral black cat!
pompa, Bodnant is one of my favourite gardens. There's so much variety and the estate is lovely to walk around. With luck the laburnum walk should be in full bloom.

Lona Sat 06-Jun-15 15:38:00

Hello all, I've brought a bottomless bottle of bubbly to welcome the newbies and to celebrate nothing in particular! wine
The sun is shining here and this kitchen is the best place to be smile

Smoked salmon and cucumber sandwiches are on the table next to the universal favourite..........lemon drizzle cake!

loopylou Sat 06-Jun-15 16:10:17

Fresh strawberries and cream to add to the table- English ones from friends who grow them in a poly tunnel.

pompa Bodnant is beautiful, especially the Laburnum walk in bright sunshine.

Oh dear soop and AM fans, clearly the rain check didn't help him.

soop Sat 06-Jun-15 16:37:47

Judthepud2 a very warm welcome to our kitchen. Our motto is...the more the merrier. We may not always be the best debaters but we are interested in each other. We share the highlights of our everyday lives together with the sad happenings that can happen to any one of us. Our Kitchen has no bounds. It expands on a regular basis. So...to you and Falconbird consider yourselves Kitcheners wine cupcake flowers smile

MacS's sister and brother-in-law will be flying (by plane) into Glasgow tomorrow. I'm therefore making certain that our wee hoos is welcoming. As our second bedroom is used as a studio/computer room/ exercise bike space/ diner, they will be staying at the guest house owned by our good pals.

The weather isn't too good. It's grey and blustery. I believe that it improves tomorrow.

soop Sat 06-Jun-15 16:39:06

loopylou At one point I really believed that Andy was the better player. Alas, Novak was invincible.
