Add teeth to the Disability act 2010

Just arrived back from the Isle of Wight although the ferry company gave me a discount I was very upset on the out going journey. We were one of the last on the Ferry when we got out of the vehicle there was know one to inform me where I needed to go to get the lift to the passenger deck. I had to climb up 3 flights of stairs and when I got to the top a young man was guarding a plastic chain and said you could have gone up in the lift. I said I would if anyone was there to tell me. At that point the wife was directed to it.

Seems as though my problems have not fell on deaf ears. Rotherham advocacy service have been in touch Access to Rotherham also. Just a question if anyone can answer. anyone had any solutions changed over the size of central reservations on 40 mph being made bigger to accommodate scooters and people pushing wheelchairs

Our problem is no fence at all around the children's playground (next to a road which is busy at times). We are working on that atm but it is such a s l o w process.

I thought it meant something to do with wonky teeth, then when I started reading I thought it meant Derek had lost his teeth at the playground, which brought to mind a group of us swimming around in the Adriatic looking for two sets of lost false teeth (after quite a lot of some wine, a wonder everyone was OK). We found one set of teeth but not the other (neither of them ours btw).

When are the local elections? If you keep badgering your local councillor or prospective councillor perhaps they may be spurred into action.
I got nowhere years ago with a school problem (H&S), then rang the local councillor, who was quite keen for the local paper to publicise his good works. He certainly got things moving for us - after me badgering the headmaster, the council etc for weeks, he got things sorted very quickly.

Derek, you need to wait and see who gets in to power after the local elections, until then, nobody will be interested in doing anything if it means decisions.

Ana, my grandma used to have no teeth, but it was no disability, I would have backed her rather than a crocodile any day of the week.

Could Gransnet support things like this by the way one of the parish councillors who works the rest ngot away without sacking when they went at the town hall.

Parish see to recreation. Borough when I contacted them over the droppings sais no chance we have a list a mile long. It is Rotherham the parish are all Labour except 2. and the borough are going to get elected in but what for they are all out in 12 months when the government push for a new borough council then.

Only went to 2 of the 5 access points one was high and low boxed bars could not get the scooter under or zig zag between either . The other was a tollgate type thing with that much welding on it I could't get the scooter under. The only thing that could get under was a skate board. there was a walking access that I could stand no chance with. Spoke to a lady from Rotherham disability that was at Doncaster. She was leaving in 2 weeks she was the advocacy for the disabled that was over 2 months ago.

about 4pm the parish council were informed but it happened twice. Told by centre manager for the disabled.

Also (warming to the theme) if your lack of teeth made it impossible or very difficult to eat, that could possibly be classed as a disability? I'm not being facetious, it would be very distressing especially if you had dentophobia.

Well, having no teeth, or very few of them, could possibly put you at a disadvantage in the jobs market.

Me too..., couldn't quite figure out how teeth wouid come under the Disability Act!

Yes - the local structures vary - here we have a district council ( who look after the park) and a county council. Some of the villages have parsh councils round here and there is a campaign at the moment to set up a town council in my town ( as the distinct council covers two towns) which in the hierarchy would sit below the district council
