Glorious day! But parky with it!
Hoping all my Granspals are well and refreshed. Like Soop I am wondering about the DHs. Mine is feeling a lot more human (!) the test will be whether he puts his breakfast things in the dishwasher - not holding my breath on that one!

Glorious day here too, washing drying on the line, house clean and tidy and garden looking lovely so off for a walk in the local woods which are smothered in primroses, before I tackle the ironing.

I do hope all the poorly DHs are recovering, my thoughts are with you all.

DDIL en route to Italy with DGS, I just hope he sleeps (so will all the other passengers!) to stay with her parents. DS not gone so he's hoping to catch up with work and chores......

That would be feeling superhuman then Soutra.

Seriously, I'm very glad that he is improving, it must be an underlying worry for you all the time.

My DH is much better now but worries that he is not 100% yet.
However this week we saw his surgeon and she confirmed that everything is going according to plan and has written to his doctor asking for physiotherapy to be arranged. She wrote the letter out there and then and asked us to give it to him saying she was sorry she hadn't got an envelope. A bit of a change from the old days!

I'd like to know how number'shusband is.

loopylou Aren't woods magical at this time of the year. Ours are at their best at bluebell time. Between here and Campbeltown the hillside will be stained bright blue. The next treat for us will be the wild yellow irises that add a splash of colour to the verges.

pompa I happen to like visiting garden centre shops and eateries. The food is excellent and having breakfast must be a real treat. We must try it sometime. Glad that the tooth is slowly but surely settling down after the root canal treatment.

Silly me -breakfast things yet again meant to walk over to the dishwasher by themselves! Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose.

The woods are gorgeous soop and it looks like we'll have thousands of bluebells too -I love their perfume too. I bet your views are breathtaking and with the seasonal changes you have a never ending show

I was astonished at the number of wood anemones too, so delicate, as well as the ransoms/wild garlic-I must go and gather some soon to make pesto - I think granjura suggested it.

Sorry that I stopped a bit abruptly earlier. DH returned from the Saturday market with a bunch of roses for me. Real old fashioned ones, they must have come from the stall holder's own garden because they are so fresh and they smell delightful. Then a neighbour dropped in and as we were too lazy late to make the soup we had planned, we went out to lunch.
DH is resting his eyes at the moment.

soop and loopylou, when I visit DD1 there is a garden down her road that I pass when I go shopping. Most of the time it just looks green and a bit unkempt. In May (?) it is just a mass of bluebells and absolutely beautiful and it makes me glad that the young couple living there have decided to keep it like that.

dustyangel Old fashioned roses...what a treat for the senses. I can almost smell the heady fragrance. Followed by lunch (that neither of you had to prepare) that sounds like a most satisfactory Saturday.

Meadow gardens, in spring, are the most magical places. Butterflies love them. Some time ago we visited Alness on the east coast of Scotland. It had won many awards for the best town in bloom. On the edge of the town, an area of waste ground had been sown with wild flower seeds. I have never seen anything more perfect.

Meadows of wild flowers are indeed perfect, soop.

Kew Gardens are offering free wild flower seeds to any takers, if any GNs fancy growing them. Unfortunately I don't have any spare space

Recuperating hubby is doing OK, but although the treatment in ICU can`t be faulted in any way, we are really disappointed in the follow up after care. We were given to understand weeks ago that once he went back onto the wards, an outreach team would follow his progress and monitor him for quite a while, and that anything needed to help at home would be in place before he was discharged. As you know, he discharged himself against medical and physio advice, and ended up being sent back in by the district nurse. He was discharged again a few days later, declared medically fit by the doctors and physically fit by physio. But he still can`t manage steps, and the handrail we were promised for upstairs never materialised, so he`s still sleeping on a 2 seater sofa downstairs. The district nurse says it`s unsatisfactory, and that we must keep on at the Occupational health department. They say that the handrail they ordered has been discontinued, and that as they aren`t allowed to use any other supplier, if we want one we have to access and buy it ourselves. plus get it fitted!
Sorry to have been so long winded, I did try to condense it!
Bella and Soutra, I do hope that your hubbies are improving healthwise, and that MacSporran is still doing well.

This may be useful Numberplease. We used them when getting DF back home and it was very useful and reasonably priced. They will supply and fit handrails, key boxes outside for those who need them etc. Hope this helps. to you and the other GN people with problems at the moment.

All most unsatisfactory number you must persist and persist more. I am hearing of others getting services and I have decided he who shouts loudest gets things done. Get shouting very loud. It really does work and that is a terrible indictment of the system but we must use it to get what we want.

I'm very upset as a clerk at the tribunal has put in a formal complaint against me!
It alleges I'm a bully, regard clerks as menials, and that I made racial comment against the Welsh. My mother's maiden name was Lloyd!
I'm proud of my Welsh heritage!

I'm struggling slightly this week as my mother is staying with me. I mean no offence to those of you who have lost loved mothers but mine just sucks the happiness from me I'm afraid. I'm trying very hard to stay on an even keel.

This is such a beautiful time of year in the countryside, I'm trying to breathe as much of the lovely cool air as I can and fill my senses with the sights and sounds of springtime.

Silly clerk, we all know that Galen is not like that! . Shall we send the grans round?

And some lovely spring for you baubles - been there, felt that! The thing is to keep repeating 'Not long now!'

Baubles when in the situation you are in now I did what the DC and DGC used to do and tell myself "only 5/4/3 more sleeps now".

Galen try to keep your pecker up- how rude of that woman- stay well clear in future if you possibly can.

number it is not acceptable that DH has been tipped out of hospital to lie on a 2 seater sofa to sleep. I agree with others, start shouting and go to the original district nurse who helped to get him admitted the second time. She also has a duty of care towards him. If that does not work, I think a phone call to your GP, perhaps asking for a home visit so that he can see for himself the non arrangements made.

I do not know how far away the hospital is but sometimes appearing in person helps to get the ball rolling again. The OTs are not behaving in a professional manner- DH is being treated as "out of sight, out of mind" which is unacceptable.
