Please may I ask what does it mean - "the ventilator keeping my beloved husband ..." I don't understand that.

So sorry for your loss crow Comforting to know that he was enjoying himself and that he has given hope to other people, but very hard for you after so long together.

Crow said that she was hoping her DH's organs could be used in transplant Grannyknot so without going into too much detail I think perhaps that was why there was a ventilator involved.

I think Crow is being very brave and dignified bringing up the subject of possible organ transplant. There are so many people in desperate need.

I think that perhaps there was a bit of text missing in Crow's OP, ie 'the ventilator keeping my beloved husband of almost 51 years alive was turned off and he died.'

That was my interpretation, anyway.

My sincere condolences Crow. As you say he brought life into the world and is continuing to give life to others through his transplanted organs . Speaking as the wife of a man who would have died 18 years ago were it not for DH's successful liver transplant I am so grateful on the recipients' behalf. Thank you
