I've just had the most amazing facetime call from my daughter who is AT HOME with baby!!!!
Daughter has been 'rooming in' at the hospital for the last three days to do day and night feeds in preparation for taking the little one home, but didn't dare mention it in case anything went wrong again. Baby was weighed this morning and hadn't lost weight and her brady/desats have improved. She still has a monitor and a naso-gastric tube in and will have daily visits for the next month, but unbelievably she's home. I am so excited - her most recent blood transfusion has left her quite pink and she looks really healthy.
Those of you who have been there will understand when I say that for the first time she looked like a 'proper' baby, lying in her mother's arms after a feed with a look of contentment on her little face and making the occasional gurgling sound. So, so lovely - I can't stop grinning.
