Apt sayings

I like it, and will pass it on to my anxious friend M!

I went to see a friend on Monday who has had some pretty awful things happening lately. She was trying to say that what happened to me when DS1 committed suicide was far worse than what she is currently going through.

I was trying to find a way to get across to her that "emotional" pain is pain, (or perhaps a broken heart) no matter what the cause.

The only thing that I could come up with was to say that if you have broken your leg, whether you broke it falling out of the pub whilst a bit tipsy, or you broke it downhill skiing, or got knocked over whilst crossing the road, the pain is still the same.

Sorry, this isn't exactly an "apt saying" but hopefully readers will know what I mean.
