Bella I had both my children in Maidstone Hospital, before they decided to close it and then it became a specialist hospital instead. It was just beautiful when it was new, DD was one of the first babies to be born in the new maternity wing. It had amazing views over the countryside. I lived in Maidstone for a few years and was so relieved that it wasn't far away, with several naughty nephews managing to break themselves while they stayed with me. I spent far too much time in the outpatients department because of them.

A very good morning to all our lovely Granspal Kitcheners. My goodness isn't there a lot of activity in our kitchen.

Such a lovely surprise to hear that Bella is where she should have been a short time ago...had she not perched on steps and toppled off. Bella I do hope that your sister's 70th birthday celebration goes according to plan. I can fully appreciate that your husband is feeling tired but I'm so pleased that you are together again. If your wee granddaughter is suffering with a tummy bug it's best that your husband is unlikely to catch it.

The sea was mighty at this point, number...we are fairly well sheltered. I bet it was quite a sight to behold down at Westport Beach.

Lona I guess that having a dishy chiropractor makes a shed load of difference to the treatment. I can well imagine you stretched out on the couch...eyes all of a twinkle. Don't tell Galen she'll want him and we know what happens when Galen gets a dishy man...he mysteriously disappears. I've a notion that she has a room in the attic where she has wild and wonderful parties.

dusty I saw the chiro on Monday and he has worked his magic! He is very dishy and has a wonderful manner I was rather sore yesterday though.

I've toasted some hot x buns and put the kettle on. I need a sit down before everyone descends for the weekend! I have been waking up at 3am lately and then making mental lists of meals and my brain hurts now!

Dusty are you in the UK also? If you have mentioned it, I'm sorry I missed it. Hope you are enjoying yourself. It is great fun shopping isn't it, but then I'm constantly thinking 'will I be able to a) fit it in the luggage and b) will it make my luggage too heavy! ' 20kgs isn't much when there are so many lovely things to tempt you with, and much cheaper than we can get in Malta.

Numberplease your post brought a tear to my eye. How wonderful for you to see your DH up and about after he has been bed-ridden for such a long time. It is cheering to hear some good news

janer - my sister's oncologist is in Maidstone, although my sis and BiL live in Thanet. They used to live in Biggin Hill. I have grown quite fond of Kent although I'm really a northern lass from Chester.

Off to Canterbury today, if we don't get blown away by this gale which is still blowing. I want to pop into the cathedral to have a look at the new statues of HM and the D of E.

Bella, glad to hear you`re enjoying your Kent break, hope your sister isn`t feeling too poorly to enjoy you being there.
Loopylou, he`s actually been in the hospital for 9 weeks and 5 days, he`s been in ICU for 7 weeks and 4 days. This afternoon, my daughter and I arrived for visiting, pressed the buzzer at the entrance to ICU, announced ourselves and were asked to wait a second. We waited, and waited, then someone came and opened the door, sister was there down the corridor shouting "Stay there, don`t come any further!", then round the corner came hubby with a walking frame, wearing his shorts and Manchester United T- shirt! She says he`s not eating enough, so if he wants anything in particular we are welcome to bring it in, even fish and chips! She told him he can have a beer if he wants, but he told them he doesn`t drink much. She got him a small trifle this morning, very nice of her.
Soop, there`s a photo of the choppy Kintyre sea on the Muasdale website today, so I can see what you mean.

Glad you arrived safely and I hope you're not too bruised and battered Bella, I've spent most of the afternoon traipsing round Boots. Such luxury!

I come from Kent, DD lives in Maidstone. I have lived all over the county. The changes in scenery from one area to another are astonishing.

Good afternoon, kitcheners. I've had a real chuckle reading your posts Also, very glad to here your DH is now detached from the machinery, numberplease, and trust he will be on the mend now.

I've been in Kent since Sunday. Good to see my sister, even though she has not been feeling at all well due to her cancer treatment and, on top of that, a stinking cold

It was also good to be reunited with DH, who had come here ahead of me after my fall from the top of a ladder which delayed my journey by six days.
He is feeling quite good but gets very tired, especially after I have had him traipsing round the shops

Weather is extremely windy but sunny. Hope the wind drops soon.

Back home in Malta, DGD is poorly with a tummy bug and misses Nana, poor little lamb. I wish I could be in two places at once.

Ta dah! Home from ironing and dog-sitting. It's blowing something mega outside this house. As I walked towards the car I was almost uplifted...not a pretty sight!

Fetching with ears, that is.

I think this one looks quite fetching.

As for food - with both males home I have literally spent all day in the kitchen. I have made enough flapjacks to see them through hopefully two weeks, probably ten days. Tomorrow's lunch is sorted. I sometimes think what an idiot I am for never having gone down the ready meal route, but it's too late now, they won't eat them.
