Bella I'm sorry your husband is not feeling well! I expect he has got very tired however much he has enjoyed himself. I know one little person who will be happy to see you home again.

soop I'm sorry I meant to post again last night. My photos of GS and mountains have been emailed to me by DD and she received them via Instagram. I don't know how to download them.
I'm going to have find out if there is anyway to get them into my photo collection. GS normally hates having his photograph taken (unlike his sister) and these a really good. Taken by his girlfriend, it must be love.
I agree photos are precious, full of happy memories.
However I have had a chance to look at your latest sunsets, they really are fantastic.

What wonderful sunset photos soop! We had an amazing orange sun at dusk but nothing as spectacular as that.

Fingers crossed Bella that your DH picks up quickly. It's lovely to hear your stay has gone well, Bon Voyage for Thursday (I love how children count 'sleeps'!)

Bella I wonder if your DH picked up a cough/throat infection on the plane? I have never managed a flight anywhere without a sore throat afterwards. I blame the aircon on the plane.

Hello to all my lovely Granspal Kitcheners...

I've been for the six monthly audio check-up. All well. On our way back home, we almost passed Tesco...but the car drove itself into the parking bay. MacSporran opened the boot and took out the shopping bags. I strutted along (with the aid of my trusty stick) and as we went through the door he said...tell me, why have we come here? I looked at him and shook my head. We then fell about laughing. We had done all our shopping at the weekend. It was almost as if an entire week had flown by and there we were prepared for the "big shop" that didn't materialise. Call it a double senior moment!

number I do hope that you are recovering from the untimely rollocking that you were treated to when your husband demanded that he be released from hospital. Please try to take the best possible care of yourself. You are precious to us lot

Soutra MacSporran always picks up some bug or other whenever we take a trip by train or bus. His immune system doesn't function as it should. I was thinking the same thing about Mr Bella and the likelihood of air conditioning being responsible for contracting his infection during the flight.

Bella might be good idea to take him to a doctor.

soop my DD is going to choose the kittens on Thursday. They will be 3 weeks old then and I think they can collect them in 5 more weeks. They are to be called Barney and George ,all 5 were male. Good wishes to all under the weather, while I have popped in.

In need of a . A quick trip to M&S this afternoon and a slow stroll around the garden centre. I went in for bird seed and came out with three herb plants and some gardening gloves - can't find my usual ones anywhere, though it's odds on that they'll turn up now. Going up to Dundee for the weekend - looking forward to a breath of sea air.

Just seen a goldfinch on my bird feeder. Very pretty. I've seen it around the garden a couple of times. Last year there were two but I've only seen one this year.
First time its come to the feeder though.

anno Sounds like spring is sprung. MacSporran has been in the garden all afternoon (together with Rory). Happy travels to bonnie Dundee. Will you be buying marmalade and cake? If so, don't forget us lot.

Galen the goldfinch is a handsome bird. We sometimes see a pair in our garden. Yesterday we had a redcap visitor. Such a sweet little bird.

Bella I'm hoping that your dear husband doesn't feel too unwell when the time comes to fly home. I also hope that you've taken lots of family photographs.

Well, so much for all the pedal-pushing of late. I did manage to lose a few pounds thanks to all the blood, sweat and tears but, after feasting on some scrumptious Easter treats...the waistline isn't quite as trim as it was last Thursday. As bags would say...hey ho!

I should have room in my suitcase for virtual Dundee cake and marmalade. I usually do come back with really excellent oatcakes so watch this space.

I just love oatcakes, but tell me is there a Scottish cheese? I really don't know.

Only just back in and I have decided you must be very rich in Scotland!!! Those cheeses are very pricey

Just popping in to say DH is back in hospital! He was not good over the weekend and only just made it down to London for Easter Sunday lunch at DD2's. Yesterday he took it easy but felt very tired and cold so had an early night. He had an important clinic appointment at the Royal Free today and even using taxis and mobility assistance at Euston, it was not easy. We met DD3 for lunch opposite the hospital after his blood tests, but when he got in to see the Liver consultant he was greeted with" Good afternoon, Mr Soutra,, I'm amazed you are even able to walk!" His haemoglobin was down to 6, about the lowest yet. The long and the short of it is they admitted him to his "old" ward where he had his transplant 18 years ago and he was to have an iron infusion this evening and 4 units of blood starting tomorrow.

Oh dear Soutra, I'm sorry to hear about DH, it's lucky you had a Consultant appointment and it was picked up so quickly.i hope he's home again soon.

Galen, we have lots of goldfinches but very few sparrows. We also have lots of pigeons!

Soutra, I`m so sorry to hear about your husband, hopefully he won`t be in for too long, but also hopefully long enough to get him right.
I`ve been in touch with the Occupational Health people at the hospital, because last night hubby said he`d been told he could come home today. After speaking with the nurse, she said that physio had cleard him for steps, and the doctor had cleared him medically, but that the wording had been that "all being well he could come home today. I contacted OH because of the difficulty with the steps at the top of our stairs, and something is on order, to be fitted on the 15th. He`s just rung to say he can come home, but that physio are going to ring me, so just waiting now for the call.
Bella, safe journey home tomorrow. How is your husband?
